When is it going too far in Olympic celebration?

The women of the Canadian hockey team politely accepted their gold medals and waved to an adoring home crowd just moments before the real celebration would begin.

I think that their celebration is funny. And they have worked hard to win the gold so good for them for having a little fun with their win.

Man, this Winter Olympics will go down in history as bad publicity. This isn't this only time that people have gotten in trouble with bad partying. Lets not forget the death earlier. Way to go Vancouver. Bet they will never get the shot at the Olympics again.

On a lighter note. I do find it funny that the Americans beat the Canadians at hockey earlier. Way to dominate them in THEIR sport on THEIR home ground.

I say ROCK ON! If I dedicated my life to winning a medal in the Olympics, you're dang straight I'm gonna party like a rock star when I win it! It's been awe-inspiring watching all the athletes!

I found nothing wrong with it. They acted, in my opinion, the same as other Hockey Fans and Players do when they win.
To me Hockey, and Soccer, being low scoring games, cause alot of
celebration for a winner, since is only by one or two points, two points in this instance.

I think celebrating is fine but whether these atheletes like it or not they are role models in their community and sport. IF the reports are correct that one of these young women, and I use that term lightly, were drinking underage then I think that should be addressed. That would be the only thing that I would see a problem with. I really don't ever recall any man stating that what he looks for in a woman is a beer guzzling, cigar smoking chick that whip his booty at hockey. I mean there may be some that want to lick an ashtray and chase it with a cold one and I am all for women's equality but not enough that I would actually want to me a man, GROSS! I wouldn't expect a female hockey player to be prissy but I wasn't expecting the cave girl either. Cheers to them on their well earned victory!!!

I think this situation would not be as controversial if it were the men's team. Society treats actions differently from women and in my opinion society would be more accepting of this behavior from men. I don't agree with that but that's just the way things are.

They showed a lot more class than the Russian ice dancer with the big bird head. He kept me laughing for a week.

First of all winning a sport that your country invented is nothing to brag about in my opinion.

Second it dose not matter if your a man or women. This act was too much. Not saying that they shouldn't be happy or that they should not celebrate. Just not in front in front of the TV or fans in the audience. Do it at your house, the locker room, hell the bar!

Kids look up to these men and women.

As far as drinking under age. If they are in Canada it's 18 or 19 depending were your at.

Don't forget that the legal drinking age in Canada is 18 years of age.

If men can have fun when they win why cant the women? I say good job if you work hard for the win and you get it have some fun with it

This whole ordeal would have been fine if they would have kept the celebration inside of the locker room where it is suppose to be. If you celebrate with the fans you should do that before heading to the locker room. The Yankees got in trouble a few years back for bring champagnee on to the field and spraying fans with it as well. So it goes both ways for men and women(before somebody says it's only cause they are women). These are meant to be seen on camera, but not in a public forum (i.e. olympic ice rink)

ROFLOL Imajean thinks that every country has a drinking age of 21....oh my talk about being unknowledgeable about culture. Some countries let kids drink wine at the age of 5, not all countries consist of a bunch of "puritans".

American laws do not apply worldwide, this country is NOT all that lol.

I say great. You worked hard, let off some steam. The IOC is too overbearing. If my memory serves me correctly, they stripped the late great Jim Thorpe or his medals years ago just because be played a little semi-pro baseball to help ends meet. Look at today. They have sponsors, their parent, spouses and friends have their trip to the olympics paid for and most like lay down some front money or made money for all to spend...

Have a great time..Old age comes fast.

I had to laugh out loud at that. How true!! Just think how the world would be so much more peaceful if everyone minded their own business. I think people should be more concerned with what they should be doing instead of what everyone else is doing.
