A Barnesville couple suffered serious injuries Thursday morning when their 1991 Mercury Marquis struck a deer on Highway 41 North near the Pike County line.
The victims were identified by GSP spokesman Mike Maynard as Shelby Copeland, 75, and his wife, Marion Copeland, 76, both of Edgewood Circle in Barnesville
This was the scene at Thursday morning's crash which occurred at about 10:15 a.m.

As a member of the family I'd like to thank you and say that we can take all the prayers we can get. About 15 years ago, Marion's Mother was in a bad crash where a young lady crossed the center line of the Hwy. they were traveling and she died from her injuries. Fortunately, she knew the Lord well and was a good and faithful servant. Sweetest woman you'd ever want to meet. Thankyou for your prayers.
