First its Thomaston office shut down.
Now, the American Red Cross is without a presence in the Lamar County area after its Griffin office was shut down due to a lack of funding.

Does this mean they will quit sending us letters dunning us for donations?

Probably not. The Red Cross will still respond to local disasters, provide services to local men and women in the armed forces, and teach life saving skills such as CPR and the use of AEDs. They're able to perform these services due to the financial donations about the American People. The only real change is that residents of Lamar County have asked Atlantans to shoulder more of this financial burden.

Move to Lamar County Emergency Management Agency. Look same Red Cross. Now have food, drink, blanket, radio, flashlight, fire extinguisher, triage, first aid and CPR training. 50 volunteers CERT (Community Emergency Response Team)...
