Senior reserve Joey Vaughn hit a game ending RBI triple in the fifth inning to invoke the mercy rule and give Lamar County a 10-0 win over Jordan in game one of a Senior Night doubleheader Tuesday at Aldora Field.
The Diamond Trojans went on to take the nightcap as well, 20-1, in three innings.

Congrats to Joey Vaughn... Joey is a very polite, and unassuming, young man. He has practiced and worked hard without complaint, and when his time came, he made the most of it. Great kid with a great attitude, and very deserving of this recognition.

Joey should have been playing in leftfield tonight against Howard. I'm pretty sure that he can catch a routine fly ball that is hit right to him. If not leftfield, then first base. He couldn't have done any worse than the guys that were out there at either position.
