I love the content and design of this site. My only gripe, however, is the constant use of stock photos. Do you guys need a photographer? I'd be glad to assist in my free time, wouldn't even ask much pay.

Nope they did try to plea with him. Offered him 5 years, he wanted to take it to trial. Didn't quite work out in his favor.

Walter, Please put a (M) male or (F) female behind some of these weird names so we can have a mental picture of what went on. I know every child in the world deserves a weird spelling of a unique name but it is impossible to picture what went on when a reader can't picture male or female gender. We can guess the gender of everyone except Ghareka Allen. When I read Ghareka I'm not sure if it is a green lizard selling insurance, a male, or a female.

THEY DIDN'T OFFER HIM 5 YEARS, IT WAS MORE THAN THAT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW CHILD MOLESTERS AND PETIFILES ONLY GET PROBATION/FINES AND THIS GUY GOT 30 YEARS AND HE DIDN'T PHYSICALLY HURT ANYBODY. DON'T GET ME WRONG HE DESERVES SOMETHING BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

He had a loaded gun in the house, if law enforcement had not arrived no telling what he might have done. Why not tell how ridiculous it is to the family of the 4 and 7 year old boys who lost their lives the other day to a man who was upset about a same issue, a relationship that went bad.

even though ya violated my constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression by not allowing my previous comment.i commend you for throwing out the theatrics and telling the real story.as an arttist we're use to severe critics and have thick skin maybe its a lesson the local media can learn.

p.s. no disrespect meant just a learning lession for the local media....much better article....

What you talkin bout willis. What kind of artist are you? Painter, singer, sketcher, or what. You make it sound like you might be pulling 6 figures a year rapping or something. Your constitutional rights weren't violated. You typed something and it got pre-screened and chose not to be posted. If you have something you would like to share, let us know where you will be and hold a meeting. There are multiple areas within Barnesville that can hold a large crowd. You can excersise your constitutional rights there and say what you want to. However, there may be jail time afterwards depending on what you say.

The first amendments reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I don't see where it says "and the Herald Gazette shall allow anyone to post on their website regardless of its message even if it is deemed obscene or inappropriate."

Know the constitution, not just things you hear on Judge Judy.

LIKE I SAID HE DOES DESERVE SOME TIME BUT THIS IS A LITTLE MUCH WHEN YOU HAD 1 WITNESS TO RECANT HER STORY AND 1 MALE WITNESS IN THE CAR THAT WAS IN THE CAR WASN'T EVEN MENTION DURING THE TRIAL. IF YOU PHYSICALLY HURT SOMEONE YOU NEED TO GO TO PRISON NO MATTER THE SITUATION.

The three young ladies were the victims in this crime and all some of you yahoos can do is make fun of their names. Glad to see that you are still on the kindergarten level with your insults. I know each of these young ladies, personally, and they were and still are, good and decent girls. I know one of them is about to graduate college. Which is more of an education than most of you have ever received.

Ahmed is pronounced Ah-Med. It is of arabic origin. It means "highly praised or one who thanks God. One of the many names of the prophet Muhammad and is popular with american muslims.

I agree with you the three young ladies are the victims.The time was a lot but the way he lied in court made no sense he should have admitted he did it because he could have killed them all and one of the ladies was a mother he didn't think about her child he laughted before the trail and he laughed and joked while waiting to hear the verdit it was a joke than but for him now he is not laughing well it was never a joke never a moment to laugh about maybe now the nightmares want be so bad justice has been served mwn learn to just let the woman go as he should have and they are good and decent ladies who can move on with their life good luck ladies

Thankx to the people that really cared about Us in the situation! I never aasked to be put in that situatuon.....and i never asked to have to speak at trial on such a stupid situation! My God and i know that Carlos was wrong all the way around! But i never thought that it would come to this....i wish he would have taken the plea no matter what it was because he did what he did and he meant to do harm that night! I had never seen or heard of him or his name till that night, and i wish that i didnt know it now!But i would never on my worst enemie want to see anyone behind bars...and i never saw 30years coming!But if Carlos ever reads this ( I Forgive you) Because i am a christian....and i can never grow in my faith if i can not forgive and move on. But i will never forget....! It took days just to sleep....It took my sister hours just to stop me from shaking that night....to stop crying and just to breath...So dont take it lightly just because we all lived, doesnt mean that there wasnt a crime committed! But it made and Ms.Rozelyn and I stronger....and we will make it through in Jesus name!

Also, what probably did not come out at his trial was that this was not his first time in doing something like this. He got away with it the first time. However, this man was bound to kill someone sooner or later. I'm happy to know the ladies are physically okay. Also happy to know that in this case the justice system actually worked.

This isn't the first, second, or third time he has used violence as a means of his own form of communication. He some how feels that he will continue to get away with his actions. He does these things with no regard for the people he affects in the process. The victims and their families, and his family. I wonder who will help raise his children now? I suppose their mothers are left to do it themselves. Guess it shouldn't matter anyway since he wasn't really involved with them to begin with. This is a horrible tragedy all the way around but in the end I believe that justice was served because this isn't his first offense.

And I'd like to add that he has killed a young man in the past. He was let go because he claimed self defense. Maybe that's why he was so cocky during this trial. Who's laughing now?
