No one got individual credit, but everyone got credit for clearing the recent murder case in Lamar County. Friday morning, a man’s murderer was unknown and no one wanted credit; only the satisfaction of getting the job done.

Only 12hrs to put a murderer behind bars! Good job Sheriff, and everyone else involved. Looks like we have some great investigators in our county.

What a tough case to crack! An idiot neighbor waited next to the porch and even told other neighbors to go back inside their houses while he waited to shoot their neighbor, and the Sheriff and everyone else figured out who did it! Amazing work!

Too bad the bomb threat at buggy days didn't go that smooth, but then I guess the bomb planter didn't tell his next door neighbors what he was about to do.

So a neighbors statment is enough to get a conviction? I did not know that. I thought they had to actually go out and gather evidence.

The smart mastermind murderer hid the rifle in some trees a few feet behind the house. He told his neighbor he was going to shoot the guy, and he laid there in plain sight waiting to do it. He hid the body where it took a real crime master to find it, in the front doorway!

What a tough case to crack and make an arrest in! How did they do it? Must have taken years of schoolin and the GBI to crack this one and gather all that difficult evidence up!

If I was that good I'd toot my own horn too! Good job collecting all that craftily hidden evidence.

It must be tough to be a law enforcement officer. No matter how well you do your job someone is always their to criticize them for it. I think everyone involved with this case did a great job and deserve a pat on the back for it. Maybe it wasn’t the toughest case to solve, but they got the job done in a timely manner and are now ready to prosecute their case.

I like the fact that no-one was claiming credit, and there was real cooperation among all the different law enforcement agencies. It worked in this case, and hopefully it will be the right step in the direction of solving any other crimes that we might have in Lamar County. Is there such a thing as a simple, mundane murder case?

Why does it take all these agencies? Does not say much for our local people, they call for help even on a simple neighborhood killing. Aren't we suppose to be trying to curb government spending? I want to know just how MANY lawmen it took to get the neighbor to talk. One good man could do that. Why don't Waller at least try to do his job and stop calling in every gung-ho police, GBI and available person to make a public sceen before they ever attempt to investigate? Oh that is right he is busy teaching at Gordon college.

I am glad all the Lamar County Murderers have been apprended. Both Sheriffs worked dilligently to get the jobs done. I hope now that the DA has the strength of character to go for the optimum sentence in each case. Meaning no plea barganing, and no deals.

This is larry at his best, still on the campaign trail. He can't let the campaign rest and just do his job so we can judge how he is doing by ourselves. He has to tell us how great he is.

No matter what gets done or was done by the previous administration, people are going to critisize either way. Just like the president. People will still bitch either way. Get over it people. If you don't like him back the person you want in office more the next time. Instead of just putting in a vote, why not campaign for them and get the word out. You lost. Get over yourselves and support the people that are there now. A divided town does the citizens no good at all. You don't have to like the people in charge, but you do need to respect them regardless.

#12, it is you who needs to get off the campaign trail. Sheriff Waller is just doing his job and even going the extra mile to keep the public informed. It is just eating some of you up that Waller is doing such a great job. I know that sheriff Waller is making Buice look bad, but it isn’t on purpose. He is just doing his job (something Buice should have tried.

#10 - do you know the easiest way not to be informed about the petty information Waller puts in the paper? DON'T READ IT!!!!!!! Then you might want to consider a hobby of some sort. It might relieve you of some of your agitation!

I don’t think he is tooting his own horn. I believe he is just trying to keep the public informed on his decision making. He is a elected official and I don’t see anything wrong with him keeping the public “in the loop”, so to speak. The last sheriff did some off the wall things and everyone wanted an explanation. Now you have a Sheriff who is willing to explain his actions and you still complain.

Strangely we hear little about the unsolved murder in Piedmont during Waller's earlier administration. Perhaps he thinks Lamar citizens don't remember his earlier "performance"?

What murder in Peimont? If you’re referring to the lady that was tortured and killed at the dumpsters, you need to get your facts straight. That happened WAY before Waller was ever in office. I’m not sure who the Sheriff was back then, but I do know that it was many years before Waller was in office. Waller did reopen that case, as did Buice, shortly after he was elected the first time, but he was not Sheriff when she was actually murdered.

Some off you will say anything to discredit Waller, even if it means lying. Waller is Sheriff and is doing a good job. What’s the point of telling lies on him. Unless you competed (and loss) for his job.

I don't get why you keep thanking Milner for those 90 votes. I don't live in Milner - I voted for Waller and I think a few more people than I did. However, Milner - I do seriously thank you.

That happened in 1984, when Monaghan was sheriff (90% sure he was). That happened about the same time as the Ann Morgan disappearance and the body discovery in an abandoned house outside of Milner. I remember that because it all happened during my senior yr of high school.

Frank Monaghan was sheriff when Donna Johnson was killed. Larry did investigate the case, just not in the media. Buice investigated it too, with a lot of press hooplaa....As you know, he did not solve it either.

There are ways to say things when you want to pass information along to keep people informed, and there are ways to say things when you want publicity or to elevate your own self. Anyone who can read carefully and objectively can sort out the intent of this press release. What will really tell us all about the quality of the new reinvented Sheriff is how he behaves and how close he watches his jr regulators not how he tells us he is doing.

Since this latest chatter has gotten totally off the subject of the article, I can only assume that some do not understand the key word in the press release. It has been quite a while since we experienced it here. For that reason I want to remind you what the word is .........

What wonderful cooperation. Isn't he a great man? I'm so pleased to see he cooperates just like he promised. He is so wonderful. Such a delight. I've been waiting for cooperation for years and for someone who is modest enough to point out when they cooperate with press releases like this.

#28 If you read the article, without your sarcasm, you will see how much credit he gave to others, not to himself. You seem to be a little "buiced" in your thinking. Just my opinion. By the way, Waller probably sneezed yesterday - so get busy and make something of it - ok?

I don't understand everybody want's to put others down for what purpose. Does it make you feel better. If we would all support those in office get behind them and back them weather it buice or waller we would all be better off and much happier people.
