Political forums featuring candidates in contested races on the July 20 primary ballots are set for Tuesday and Thursday, May 25 and 27, at the Barnesville Civic Center.
I am curious why he decided to run as a republican since in the past he has supported democratic ideas. I'm concerned that he is doing this for votes which makes him appear sketchy and fake.

Why should I back a person that backs a party ( Democrats) that wants to take more of my money and do away with my second amendment right?
You say you are running as a Republican and not a Democrat because of the conservative values you have. Why have you waited so long? They have not had values for a while. Arlen Specter just lost his seat in the senate, by a very large majority because he changed from Republican to Democrat, just to win a race. He voted for most of the spending, Obama and his cronies have put, on mine and your children, and my great grandchild. How many people (Democrats) have you backed in the past that you knew were going to raise taxes to buy votes from people that see a 10 second sound bite and take it to be gospel?
If you are in earnest about being conservative, come back to this piece and tell what are your intentions about taxes and spending. I do not have a child in the school system, and I now pay more school tax than I ever have in the past. Its getting very hard to pay every year when you pay out more and the same amount comes in. We (on fixed income) are the ones that are forgotten about. Just what percentage do you think a person and family should have to give the gov. What Percent?
I think people are too smart to believe a person changes parties due to backing them (Democrats) for a long time. Could it be you understand the Democrats are loosing in every pole and now you wish to change all of a sudden? Come back and say what you are going to do for the people that actually pay the lions share of school tax, and how do you intend to cut the budget and have another surplus next year, and years to come?
Danny has conservative values. Always has. As for a political party - Danny is going to do right with the common people. He can see the waste that is going on and I'm sure he will work to end it. One of the last things he wants is higher taxes. Only an idiot would wish higher taxes on themselves.
Look a football stadium is nice but those are the things you go after when we've eliminated substandard classrooms and put an education above a possible sports scolarship for less than .0001%. Get the kids ready to enter college.
For your information, people that are in power,especially the ones you Democrats have voted for, do raise taxes on people, certain groups,and certain people not. Maybe they gave themselves a sweetheart deal, like the moocher crowd,and like the unions and certain states that were crucial in voting the Democrat way for different bills that will in the end run-- raise taxes, They do this to the people every day, or have you missed that part?. They don't pay, but the rest of us will-----you really don't want to forget that. I still want to hear his reasons, of why now???? By the way, The democrats are now starting the process of taking over certain unions retirement, and guarantee it forever. The damn thing is broke and can not keep paying out the sweetheart deals, so they( the Democrats) want the rest of us to guarantee the retirement of certain ones. How does that grab you? Did he support these people---inquiring minds are waiting with anticipated breath.

Party affiliation does not eliminate individual thought. Defying these stereotypes is not always easy but is what democracy is based on--freedom of thought and choice.

Voting for a party causes nothing but trouble. In my opinion, it's time to find out about the person seeking the position and weigh in on what they offer.
