Pike County sheriff's investigators are working an apparent homicide that occurred on Reid Road near the Lamar County line Friday afternoon. Pike coroner Terrell Moody was on the scene and left at 5:10 p.m. He confirmed the victim was a white male.

UPDATE: The Herald-Gazette has confirmed the victim lived on Ramah Church Road in Lamar County and was 29 or 30 years old. He did two previous prison terms for possession of methamphetamine.

maybe we can get a name today. The guy is about my age. I may have went to school with him. I dont think i know anyone that has been to prison for meth though.

Nothing stupid about that. If you grew up in this town, you know just about everybody who grew up in this town at the same time you did. Kind of stupid you wouldn't realize that.

This is the NEWSPAPER, not Face-Book, My-Space...or some other childs-play free-lance, we are all in a small town, so, it is True about knowing Everybody, & YES..I knew Chris & his entire Family! He may have had some problems in the past, mabey, still did, but, it did not give ANYBODY the right to take his LIFE! I hope that they catch the Murderer or Murderers, and their LIFE IS TAKEN, ALSO!!!

yea stupid, because he is about my age I may know him. It really dont matter if he was from one of the surrounding counties. I still may have knew him. Lots of people know me and I know lots of people. If you are from this area, I probably know you too. You may not be so quick to call someone stupid if you knew who you were talking to.

Ok, Im gonna use my "criminal minds" skills here and say that the multiple gun shots to the head was someone that was mad with him and made it a personal issue and wanted him dead 100%. Other wise they wouldnt have specifically went for the face area. (see we can learn things from the TV that are interesting).

Now for the real important issues:
1: Drug deal gone bad (doubt it)
2: Payback for something ( possible CI maybe)
3: Random robbery gone bad (no way)

I live right off of Reid Rd. and we have yet to learn anything from the police department. This is scary being that someone was murdered so close to our homes and we have no idea why or if this was random....

Agree! It saddens me that we live in a society that has not yet evolved to a point where guns are the no longer the solution to all problems. Carrying guns to church, to check the mail, cut the grass..sad.
