Texting while driving ban begins Thursday

great law,now if we could just get it to say no cell phone use at all while driving.

can you imagine how waller and his cronies will use this one to generate revenue and pull folks over for no reason just to search their cars

I can talk on my phone and drive just fine, and will continue to do so. (I won't text though) But I can't help but be amused at the typical liberal responses here.

So if some people can't talk on the phone and drive, then nopbody should be allowed to?

I wonder if this will stop the deputies, and police officers from texting while patrolling,,,,doubt it, the nothing has stopped them from speeding and violating other traffic laws,,,just watch every Griffin cop that lives or travels through this county evryday on the way home,,,or our own VERY young deputy or two we have,,,

First, they didn't "make it possible" to use a phone in a moving vehicle, they just didn't "make it not possible" to. Nor do they, or should they have to. It's called "personal responsibility"

Further, you have a very twisted view. And an apparant lack of common sense.

Why not just use a handsfree device and call someone. It is a lot safer then texting back and forth and everything can be said and done within a fraction of the time. If it is that important then call them or send it to their Email so then can be seated and ready to write something down if needed.

Yet another stupid law put on the books simply because some people are actually stupid enough to text and drive. That's an accident waiting to happen.....but will the law stop the stupid people?

NO....people like that are too stupid to realize their own stupidity, they are the ones who typically break the law anyways because they are too stupid to realize that the law was put in place because of people just like them.

Our government has made it a great and profitable business to make money off stupidity.

And cops have to follow the law too, but even some cops are too stupid to realize that the law applies to THEM just as it does to any other citizen. The only difference between them and us, is a gun and a badge.

Thankfully the few stupid cops in existance usually get fired over their stupidity before being on the job for too long. The few in Barnesville who deserve to be fired (and should have been fired years ago) and have not been yet, must be butt buddies with people in higher positions.

Which brings to mention, some people are too stupid to be allowed voting privilages. I say we need a new law, that all registered voters must take an IQ test before being allowed to vote....THEN maybe we can get some decent leaders elected in this Country.

This law should and hopefully will be enforced. What is wrong with society today that kids can't do without a phone. We are raising a bunch of sissified punks that can't be responsible enough to do the right thing just by using COMMON SENSE!!!! Cell phones are being banned for use on the job. As they should be because you are not being paid to be on the phone you are being paid to do and honest days work not play around, and talk on the phone. But then again I wait on a lot of customers who have to be on the phone while placing an order show some common sense a put the person on hold and handle your business.

Im a youngster myself but Im glad they passed this law. People have lost their lives b/c of this foolishness. Its really not that serious, dang just wait until you stop the car.
