Air conditioner coils continue to be the target of choice for thieves in and around Barnesville.

There are all kinds of criminals. Two that come to mind are black ones and white ones. Posting a picture allows the public to be better informed and more alert. So many of you are too stupid to realize this and would rather turn it into a racial thing. When our court system does nothing more than tell them not to do bad stuff any more, then turns them loose to comit more crime, the public needs all the help it can get. HG is not doing anything but a service to the law-abiding citizen.

Yeah, there's DA around here who has testified for a child molester at his parole hearing and helped secure his release. I bet he does not identify was a democrat. Aluminum scrap is worth about $1 per pound.

Most air conditioning compressor coils yield about 20-60 pounds dpending on size. Figure someone gets $50 for your $1000 compressor coil.

Maybe we should go after the people that buy this stuff. I guess there are reasons people would legally sell this as scrap but if you are a buyer and you see the same person constantly bringing it in for sell, shouldn't he at least be made to report that to the police? I guess that is too easy an answer and I KNOW THAT WE DON'T NEED MORE GOVERNMENT REGULATION. IT SEEMS THAT WE ARE BEING REGULATED TO DEATH. Just a thought, what is your idea to stop AC coil theft?

Use plastic washers to insulate one or more of the covers from the frame and run a wire to an electric animal fencer inside...won't kill them but they will leave yours alone

2 loud, thats my folks. Whats with all the racist comments. Everytime there is a post of the follow weeks police or sheriffs report ya'll always blame the the colored ones. Just because they ar "black" doesnt mean they are bad people, just because they aren't wealthy like ya'lls stuck up white folks and dont live on thomaston street or drive a nice car also doesnt mean they are bad people. Rather than electrifying the unit just bolt it down to the concrete pad it is supposed to be installed on. Maybe some ENTREPENEUR(?) will come up with a simple system. Go you Republicants.

As hot as it has been, I think if somebody tries to take your coil you will notice the unit is shut off and everything is getting warm before somebody could take the coil. That thing won't come out that quick. In addition to theft, the guilty person would have committed an environmental crime by not capturing the coolant during the theft.

The only reason the picture of a black man is up is because he did the crime!!! Get over it! You claim that they are blamed because of their economic situation.
