Investigators with the Lamar County sheriff's office are probing a reported armed robbery but are skeptical of the victim's story.

Who is the victim? Why would he say he got robbed? Where was he at? LCSO you need to release more info to fill us in. Maybe not anything that would hinder the investigation but dang. What the crap kind of info is this you gave to the HG.

I know this person and he would not lie about this. Lamar county crossed the line when they did an illegal search of the victims truck. As usual the victim becomes the criminal. No wonder I have no respect for law enforcement officers!!!

The police are there and always looking to arrest people until you call them on a non-felon with money who will put a sign in their yard when elections come around.

Lamar county just wont admit they can't control their streets. Need more state officers in area.

i had the same thing happen to me in thomasto and i did not lie about it but they charged me and i was on probation for a year because of it was me aginst the law in the court and who do u think the judge is going to belive me or them the hol system is messed up i have no respect for the law now because of that and i hope the same thing does not happen to this person like it did to me

As usual the people of Barnesville jumping to conclusions....Is it possible that this guy lied? There are a lot of people reporting things as stolen thinking they are going to get insurance reinbursment or something. Its funny how everyone just cant wait to jump on law enforcement. Wait till you get the details and then make your decision.

State officers? Are you talking about the state patrol. All they do is work accidents and traiffic.

I do think we need more officers in the city. The way the college is growing and increased crime in general, Kenny Roberts needs to get with Chuck and make sure the hiring process is started. Seriously, how can two officers patroll the city at night and answer all of the calls? They cant. It is also not safe for those officers. Is it going to take someone getting killed?
