Sheriff’s Report

Between Saturday, July 17, and Friday, July 23, the Lamar County sheriff's office made the following arrests:
Byron Wayne Jones Jr., 34, The Rock, weaving over roadway, DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude police and driving while license suspended or revoked;
Larry Fuller Jr., 24, Barnesville, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana;
Jeffery Brian Turner, 35, Milner, failure to appear, DUI alcohol, open container and other charges;
Dedra Faye McDaniel, 43, Barnesville, serving time;
Joseph Paul Seaman, 36, Floral City, Fla., possession, sale, purchase or manufacture of methamphetamine;
Robert Lee McGirt Jr., 40, Soperton, arrested for another agency;
Christopher James Sessions, 21, no residence given, arrested for another agency;
Etwaunn D. Hines, 26, Atlanta, criminal trespass;
Sammie Lee Furlow Jr., 22, Barnesville, investigation by Barnesville police department and failure to appear;
Angela Michelle Legan, 34, Jackson, child support;
Brian K. Denton, 31, Milner, parole violation;
Roger Lee Murray, 56, LaFollette, Tenn., DUI alcohol, driving with a suspended or revoked license and speeding;
Rashad Lamon Moreland, 29, Griffin, serving time;
Charawls Antel Geiger, 28, Barnesville, aggravated assault and obstruction of an officer;
Jacob Daniel McLendon, 20, no residence given, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, weaving over roadway and no seat belt.
Deputies answered 122 calls and the 911 Center answered 106. Deputies responded to 28 calls, the Barnesville police department to 36 calls, Lamar County firefighters to 22, the Barnesville fire department to two and Mid Georgia Ambulance Service to 47. There were nine accidents. Deputies issued 48 traffic citations and served 22 warrants, and 11 subpoenas/civil papers.

CHARAWLS=CHAD GEIGER---IT IS AMAZING HOW HIS NAME IS MISSPELLED AS IF WE WOULD NOT KNOW WHO HE REALLY IS. HIS AUNT THE PROBATION OFFICER MUST HAVE MORE PULL THEN WE COULD IMAGINE, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE KNOW THAT IT IS CHAD GEIGER AND HE IS GOING TO JAIL FOR BEATING UP HIS FIANCE AND THE COP. Rack up another DUI for Jeff Turner!! Seems like after the 3rd or 4th or however many he has now he would either not have a permit to drive or maybe even pit him in Prison...again. Guess after almost killing himself while drinking and driving on a bike...he would try again.

how many times have many of us driven with a drink in us or drunk and just didnt get caught. i know i have and i paise God thats in the past. have you ever driven drunk and didnt get caught.? last i heard it was still legal to hire a lawyer in this country. if you are gonna call my freind out by name thats fine, but have the guts to put yours. thank you and have a great day

Keith, I like matt and speak to him when i see him. However his actions ( a while back) were unacceptable. He may have changed, I dont know. Ive never ask if he still does that. I think we all can agree that he has gotten away from major prosecution. Good for him, but if someone got hurt or killed due to a dui accident that a habitual violater was involved in, the judge should be held accountable as well. When people have trouble controlling themselves in civilization they need to be confined. That goes with all kinds of crimes. There is a huge majority of us that have smoked joints in the past also but now we dont condone drug use and selling. We can pray for people to change and hope for the best but I think it is a solid statement that people in Barnesville that arent low class can beat this system that is in place. Its good if you are on the criminal side of things but real discouraging if you are not.

I know people still love to keep up with the legend of Matt McIntosh, 25 DUI's that is laughable. I have had more than a few but 25. they say ignorance is bliss, but not in this case. slander- a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report. soap boxes are cheap. lawyers aren't.

If you could use your mistakes in the past to help out people that are doing those same things, would you? I thought it was a perfect example. 25 was a bit far fetched but I still think that if someone is a habitual violator and the judicial system knows about it and something bad ends up happening then the judicial system should be held accountable. Would you agree? I was mearly saying that this judicial system in place in the Lamar county area is screwed up. No matter what lawyer you have, there comes a time that something needs to be done. I really dont see how anyone can disagree. I hope all is well and you are on the straight and narrow like many of us are now days. I wasnt trying to throw you under the bus but just making a valid point. People get out of trouble all the time in this area. I think it is total bull crap. Do the crime and suffer the consequences. Its kinda like some of these people that get caught with dope and never do a day. WHY? They shouldnt be allowed to trade information for freedom. Its not right!

Thank the judges for that. I know law enforcement gets very discouraged arresting the same people over and over, just for them to get a slap on the wrist. The laws are set up to protect the criminals. They have more rights than the victims. We see this all over the country. The Brian Nichols case in Atlanta
is just one example. Its just not fair. We need to start by getting rid of all of these Liberal judges. And by the way, if any judge happens to read this, it does no good to send a drug dealer to boot camp. They dont use...they sell. They will pass every piss test when on probation. Our judges are famous for that here.
Another example...a cop pulls up behind a car that is stopped in the middle of the street. The car is running, but in park. The driver was passed out at the wheel.....DUI??? Nope, just cause the car wasnt moving. Crazy stupid laws and loopholes.

not at this court....it happened. Car wasnt moving, so he wasnt driving...of course he didnt get off free because he paid for a lawyer. Sad thing is that he could have killed someone before he passed out.
