A lightning delay when they were up 13-0, robbed the Lamar County Trojans of momentum Friday night and they dropped a non-region game to Bleckley County 27-19

What would be wrong with saying the team played to the best of it's ability and were simply beaten? When Coach Strickland addresses his team on Monday, I wonder if the blame for this loss will be Lightning Delay and Lopsided officiating.I hope not. What is wrong with saying, they scored more points than the Trojans and they won the game? Let's move on from this loss and get ready for next week.
Mr. Geiger, more can be learned on the football field than blocking and tackling. I guess when you were in school those lessons were not taught. I can only haope that Coach Strickland, Mr. Austin, and the faculty and staff of LCCHS are teaching them now
Good news!!! The Trojans play Spencer on Thursday night -- a team that lost to Carver 63-0. Yeah, you heard that right, 63-to-ZIP! Just what the doctor ordered to get the Trojans back on track for the season. From what I've witnessed of Spencer teams -- excluding basketball -- they perform like they are at a Chinese fire drill.
if you werent at the game? how dare you have a say so in how we got beat. we simply lost our intensity and fought for it back all night! yes, we lost. they came out of the break with better and bigger hopes than our team did. we thought we had it in the bag and took it to lightly to a team that had great skill. NEVER under estimate any team. This will not happen again. There are bigger expectations for our team. Last night was a flaw that CANNOT happen again. We WILL win region.
If you were at the game you would have seen that VERY "lopsided officiating" stole the game from the boys. They did play very hard ball and made some mistakes, but I've never seen anything quite like the calls I witnessed last night.
I was at the game and can say that there were alot of bad calls! But there also needs to be some work done with recievers and kickers... and the off. line.I can also say our boys played with heart and played all 4 quarters! More than I can say for the fans... it's ashame how the support goes when the score board is against us. We should be cheering our kids more when they are down to boost them up. But here in LC people start walking out .... We needed to bing in the Blue Thunder last night. So I don't feel our boys let us down... we as fans failed to ralley them on when they needed it! Hold your heads high Trojans.
Well I guess you can't really say since you was not at the game. I admit the Trojans could have played better, but there was a ot of BAD calls against Lamar. What about penalizing Lamar for having a celebration for a touchdown, but not penalizing the opposing team for doing the same thing after each touchdown they scored and many other bad calls.
This post says nothing about the team playing bad. They actually said "what would be wrong with saying the team played to the best of their ability". I think what this post is saying is, why do have to whine and complain about everything. If the officiating was "lopsided" how will crying about it help the team to improve. We have a lot of things in our world today that could give us reason to complain but that complaining will fix nothing. Let Coach Strickland make a better team with out all the crying.
Dont blame the crowd. the cheerleaders were not great at getting the crowd involved. They need some serious work. their coach should have been more involved with them instead of playing with her children and grandkids that were in the stands. The boys played a good game, there is much work needed tho.
If we believe the above posts, we can compile a list of the reasons the LCCHS Trojans lost the first game of the season
1. Lightning Delay
2. Lopsided Officiating
3. Loss of intensity
4. Underestimating the opponent
5. The Fans
6. No Blue Thunder
7. Celebrating in the end zone
and last but not least,
8. The Cheerleaders and their coach
A very impressive list. I hope the team and the coaches fix all of this before the next game.
What do the Cheerleaders and their coach have to do with it? When we get a hold of these Trojans it will be a whole list of more excuses while that "team that lost 63-zip" has whipped yall back to Lamar! Lamar players wear panties and thats all there is to it!
There are very few of us that do bleed blue and white and support ALL of the teams, clubs, groups, etc. in the Lamar County School System. Many who have kids participating go to see their kid(s) play, cheer for their kid only and could care less about the TEAM or any other team, etc. in the system. I don't have a child participating in any of the programs but I graduated from LCCHS and proudly support ALL of the programs and try to attend as many events as I possibly can. GO BIG BLUE!!!
well to me i know the trojans and that's not them the hate losing and the ppl who's downing the just keep hatein and buying the tickets to see them and cheerleaders are going to show you a little something
why would you blame it on the cheeer leaders and coach. there was many good cheers that they did to try to get the fans involved. Yes the trojans lost but don't blame it on anybody. It was the first game of the season they will surely make progress. The cheerleaders looked awesome and the coach doesnt even have grand kids. The coaches are wonderful and the cheerleaders will go very far in competition this year
I am Bleckley County fan and the way I see it Lamar has a great team but like our team need improvement. I can see a lightning delay hurting momentum however after being up 13 to 0 on a team you feel you should handle easily can also hurt. As far as officials we didn’t’ bring them with us. Good luck to Lamar and I hope you do well in the playoffs
The only problem I have with the cheerleaders as well as the band is that they disappear after halftime and don't show back up until late in the game. I understand they need a break and want something to eat/drink but provide them snacks on the sideline or in the stands after they perform so they can do their thing when the 3rd quarter starts. Otherwise, I think they do a great job supporting the Trojans.

I will admit that I was not at the game.
