I would imagine that those responsible for the attack that day on the United States felt similar to Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after the attack on Pearl Harbor when afterwards he said something to the effect of, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”. Now, I know what really happened that day. Now, I as I sit here I feel that same hatred. Not for the middle east and their "weapons of mass destruction" but for our government. The same government that attacked us that day. I'll never forget the day that I sat in school and watched American people be attacked by the American government.
If you blame it on Bush, you may as well blame it on Clinton too. Didn't he have an opportunity to take out Bin Laden after the bombing of the USS Cole or the US embassay (forgot which country in Africa)?

The flight attendants got silent, the pilot was silent, and the airport was silent when we landed. On a TV in a lounge in the Charleston airport, we learned what had happenened.
We ended up spending the day in Charleston and then driving our rental car back to Atlanta.

First of all 19 people didn’t baffle anyone. Security wasn’t as tight as it is these days and therefore foreign travelers boarded four different aircraft with a plan of inflicting terror. In that era it wasn’t illegal to carry a knife on board a plane, much less box cutters.
Second, qualified airline pilots got the aircraft off the ground and in flight. Once airborne, maintaining flight and simple maneuvering and following navigation would allow a person to drive a plane and park it in your garage. Any person with basic flight skills could accomplish the job. A “giant Arab in a cave with a laptop” is an assumption you are making. Once the plan is developed and put into motion there is no assistance needed from the ground.
I don’t know if you have ever had the opportunity to see the after effects of a plane crash but contrary to what you might assume, the damage is devastating. A jumbo jet with an almost full load of fuel that crashes into a building is going to explode and burn with intense heat. Materials that make up the construction of the aircraft along with materials within the building will also fuel the destruction. Your “Thermite Reaction” and residue could certainly be contributed to the crash and heat from the burning fuel. All the materials needed for the thermite reaction are actual materials from aircraft manufacturing components. Many other materials were available within the building too.
As for the collapse of the buildings – have you ever heard of the domino effect? This action doesn’t require the need of any special mathematics or break any law of physics. Once the collapse began, it continued. Just like when dominos topple over onto each other until all have fell.
Lastly: HAARPS, (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program). There is an actual site in Alaska. Not along ago Jessie “The Body” Ventura did his first TV show called Conspiracy Theory on the subject of HAARP or bouncing radio waves off the ionosphere for the purpose of weather control and mind control, along with other topics for the conspiracy. These sci-fi spin-offs may exist but they were not the intention of HAARP. Until they are proven I guess they will have to remain a conspiracy theory to stimulate the simple minds. No pun intended.

As far as Katrina, it was announced for weeks that people needed to leave. They had busses everywhere that were free. People did not pay attention to those warnings did they? They chose to stay. That was their own fault and stupidy.
I served two stays over there. I watched friends loose arms, legs, faces, and some even loose their life. Don't type anything you know nothing about. Yes I question the government. When you are fighting for something that you know is wrong, yet have no choice but to do it, you are allowed to ask questions.
It was my decision to sign up. I signed up for the Army three weeks after 9/11. I've served my time. I signed up before my eyes were open to the lying country that I fought for. You know what though? I'd do it again. Not because I believe in the lie we are fighting for, but because the spineless cowards that sign on to this blog and dare question the government, or even refuse to believe the very facts that are in front of them; they still need protection.
Right now we are fighting the wrong enemy. One day Americans will resort back to what this country was founded on. Back when the REAL Tea Party was more that some fat slobs sitting in their lawn chairs bitching about pieces of information they are feed through Fox News.

I think it is a healthy thing to stand on your principals and not be afraid to speak your mind against policies or politics that you disagree with. However, I find your comments too vague. Perhaps you would like the opportunity to clarify some of your thoughts and regain some respect.

You are fighting for something that you know is wrong yet you have no choice? You have the option of being a conscientious objector and recognized as such by the government. You do not have the right to oppose if you are just tired and fed up and just don’t want to participate. But if you have religious reasons for example, your contributions would be allowed in non-combative areas or you could be discharged without any poor judgments placed on your discharge documents.
Why did you enlist? Was it the fact that America was attacked?
How were your eyes opened?
What lies were you fighting for?
What are the facts in front of us?
If we are fighting the wrong enemy, who is it we are fighting that is wrong? ... Why?

The term "over there" is used by our current war vets, much like Vietnam vets used the term "the world" to refer to the U.S. It is a term describing being deployed.

The man explained to you why he enlisted. Like many others, he enlisted after 9/11 to defend his country against "the terroists". Many did. Pat Tillman gave up a football career for the same reason. Often during any national tragedy, (regardless of the country), there is a great amount of patriot fervor.

As I posted earlier, commenting on another's post, I have many questions about 9/11. Do I think the U.S. Government did it? I don't know. I do know this. What we are presented and what "is" are two very different things.

Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, while working for Project Able Danger indentfied Atta, and several others as terror suspects 1 year before 9/11. He had 3 different meetings with FBI scheduled and cancelled over this subject and then told to stand down. Those are not my words but his. He testified before the 9/11 commission about this. His testimony was left out of the report. Later, his security clearance was yanked. As of today, the Pentagon is trying to prevent the now retired Col. from publishing a book on what he knew.

Your thermite residue comment certainly is plausible accept we now know there was more than residue that was found. There is now mainstream reports of unignited thermite particles. Again, you being DOD for so long, should know that jet fuel burns at a relative low temp and those fireballs we saw outside the buildings as the planes hit was most of the fuel igniting and burning off in the atmosphere. True, there was increased temps due to fire, but not nearly enough to melt and deform structured steel.
Your comments fall in line with the NIST report which omitted many things and Popular Mechanics analysis. I have heard of the domino principle, but in this case, it does not apply. If the top floors collapsed on their own, due to damaged structured steel, it still wouldn't have fallen in it's own footprint at nearly free fall pace. It would have swayed, cracked, fell to the side, into other buildings etc. That is just fact proven by many architects and engineers throughout the world.
Finally, I understand HAARPS may have not been invented for weaponry...neither was laser, electricity, the combustible engine and splitting the atom. But they find a way to weaponize these things.
Other things that make me, and many others want to have another investigation into what really happened...

Al-Omari attended the aerospace Medical school at Brooks Air Base Texas
Al-Ghambi attended the Defense Language Institute at the Presdio in Monterey
2 other hijackers rented an apartment from and lived with a known FBI informant and still 3 others listed, for drivers licence and car registration, the Naval Air Station in Pensecola for driver's licence and car registration purposes.
I'm sure COG has an explanation for that though.
