The Lamar County Trojans traveled to Roberta tonight to take on the Crawford County Eagles in a key Region 4AA football contest.

Go Trojans go! We love our Lamar County Trojans!!! The biggest problem in Lamar County is the lack of involvement on behalf of parents. Quit whining and get involved positively or MOVE!!! You'll live longer!

Where are they finding these refs?? can we just have 1 game without crazy stupid flags against us? And why is it they only see blue and white? Guess it doesn't really matter even with all the yellow decorating the field Trojans win! Way to go Big Blue!J

Yes any crazy call they could think of they called on us. And every flag needed a 5 min chat with the refs to figure out what to do. Then they would move us back then up then back before they figured that out! And they had no PA system for the visitors side for us to hear the calls to even know what kind of crazy things they were saying we did!

UGA FOOTBALL PRACTICE WAS DELAYED NEARLY 2HRS THIS MORNING AFTER A PLAYER FOUND AN UNKNOWN WHITE POWDERY SUBSTANCE ON THE PRACTICE FIELD. COACH RICHT IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDED PRACTICE. GBI FORENSIC EXPERTS DETERMINED THAT THE WHITE SUBSTANCE, UNKNOWN TO THE PLAYERS, WAS THE GOAL LINE.. PRACTICE RESUMED THIS AFTERNOON AFTER GBI AGENTS DETERMINED THAT THE TEAM WAS UNLIKELY TO ENCOUNTER THE SUBSTANCE AGAIN.

Why don't the parents support their kids? My opinion, fwiw, is that it all starts at the rec level, when they are little fellas. If you wait for them to be successful at the middle and high school levels, then you are already behind other counties that have successful rec programs. It has to start young to allow the kids to get a tasted of competition, and to know what it's like to travel to other venues to play softball, baseball, & football. LC has a very weak rec program, and that's a big part of the problem.

Too bad there, 'Techie'. UGA found the goal line for 41 points today, and it could have been more, if CMR hadn't called off the Dawgs.

Now, back to the original topic. Good job Trojans!!!

LC has an excellent rec program. There are always a few "bad apple" parents that ruin it for the entire rec department. LC has dominated PC in most rec league age football teams this year. For the most part (with the exception of 2 out of 20 on our team)the parents are very supportive of the coaches and players. Team spirit builds very early for the little guys. Thanks LC for an opportunity for our boys to start learning early!

How many of the rec kids in softball & baseball are playing fall ball this year? How many fall ball teams are there in Lamar Co.? Yep, that's what I thought... Go to these other progressive counties, and you will see them playing fall ball in weekend tournaments all over the state. That's the reason that these counties have successful high school programs.

The kids have seen competition outside of the boundaries of the county. They choose to 'think outside of the box'. Until these issues are addressed, the it will continue to be what it is... WEAK.

The rec dept sucks. Some say its the funding inwhich the rec has no control over, others say its always been "half ass" if you will. I'm with the second option.
