One whale of a high school football game

The Pike County Pirates and the Lamar County Trojans laid it all on the line last Friday night at Trojan Field in one of the best high school football games played here in my 32 years on the sidelines.

The game had it all.

Agree on all accounts. Don't look now, but somebody is pushing all of the right buttons with the Middle School 'Feeder Program' -- undefeated, and conference champs in 2009. And, they only have 1-loss headed into the conference playoffs in 2010. Now, that's the way that you build a successful high school program, by reloading with the kids that are coming up from middle school. Without the successful feeder program, then you're in the 'rebuilding-mode's vs. the 'reloading-mode' often, more times, than not.

I believe that Nate Ferrell had a torn ACL & MCL, therefore major surgery will be needed...

Yep 5 straight post season playoff berths...one all the way to the quarter finals...two region titles....and one undefeated season....the teams of the Wilson era are forgotten. As a matter of fact, not one mention of past teams success are posted at the new site. Five years of success should be deemed "sustainable".
