Former tax commissioner Geraldine Pippin and her son were sentenced to probation last week in connection with the shooting death of a Griffin police K9 in November 2009.

That's bs if it where any body else in this town it wouldn't have went that way this thing around here called the good ole boy system is crap puke on it I say Richard Milam and Larry waller is the biggest joke HEY PIPPIN go ahead a violate your probation don't be scared you got enough money to pay out you rotton hearted old bat
Yeppers, looks like money talks and s--- floats.
So I guess the Moxon guy will have to suffer!
They would have put me in jail till I rotted!!!
I wonder who got the $300. it cost Mr. Pippin and the $100. it cost her ?!!!
I really thought that a murder of a police officer would be taken more serious than this.He mighthave been a dog but he was still a officer. This is a outrage!!!!! LEt someone else shoot a cop and see what happens.
and you folks didn't beleive me when i said back then that they would'nt get anything.ol waller and his cronies sure have lamar county in their back pocket.the funny thing is YOU BUNCH OF CLOWNS voted him back in.ya'll got what you deserve.
This is rediculous. The dog was an officer. He risked his life just like his handler. The people should go to jail. Thank goodness I don't live in Lamar County.
Did anyone else notice all the "not prosecuted" cases in the HG ?? 9 out of 35 cases not prosecuted. I think I will do like Milam tomorrow and only do 3/4 of my job too.
Allow me to interrupt the festivities for a divergent opinion.
Neither Pippin or her son should have been convicted of ANYTHING.
A dangerous attack dog was allowed to escape from it's confinement. Blog readers will recall the incident in North Carolina that happened around the same time as the Pippin incident where children were bitten by an escaped "police" dog of the exact same type. These type of dogs should never leave the police station kennel except during on duty times.
Can someone explain to me how killing an animal of this dangerous nature is "cruelty to animals?" Where is the accountability for the Griffin officer allowing such a hazard to escape in the first place? Why is this officer allowed to bring dangerous City Of Griffin property home with him? Does he demonstrate the same lack of care for the City of Griffin gun(s) he is responsible for? I certainly hope the Griffin officer learned a valuable lesson about responsibility and consequences of neglect.
It is a shame the Pippins elected to plead out on this matter. Given the severity of the stray dog problem in this county, they might have been surprised at a jury verdict.
As for Waller and Milam, I had no plans to vote for them, but this matter cemented my low opinion even further.
When did she go to court? Or did this take place in the judges chambers? I think it is time to let the tv stations in atlanta televise this. This will definitely make news and Ms. Pippin and her son will get the attention they deserve along with the prosecutor and judge.
Does it name the judge in the paper? I agree, anyone (would be nice to have them named) up for election that was involved with this needs to be voted out of office. This is an injustice to all of Lamar County!
Any where else in the country it would be a felony conviction followed by a long jail sentence to kill a police officer but not here in Georgia! It's just a dog!!! This is the worst hellhole of a state I've ever lived in. If we could sell our house we would be out of here tomorrow.
Do people realize that Susan G Komen donates thousands of dollars toward ABORTIONS !!! Please look it up for yourselves ( Google: Susan G Komen abortions)
Wow, it's a wonder the county didn't send a limo to pick up the Pippins and then buy them lunch on the taxpayer's dime after this travesty of justice.
I'm a little irritated by this.
Pippin have a lot of expensive cattle. I do not blame them if I saw a German Shepard on my property that I did not knoww. I would drop it in a heart beat.
Maybe if Mr. Moxon had kept his dog contained. Then there would not have been a problem to begin with.
You got that right. Thank goodness you do not own property in Lamar County. There are enough D.A.'S here already.
Mr Moxon should be prosecuted for failing to contain Spalding county tax payer property.
Unbelievable. Since the judge and our court system won't make them pay, maybe Karma will take a big bite out of their butts. Sick people in a sick society. You backwards people should be extinct by now, the dog killing scum bags and the good ole boys that protect them. May they burn in H forever, including the judge.
It was a drugsniffing dog, moron.. not the type of K-9 you see jumping out of a police car and taking down a suspect. Don't forget, they never came forward until someone ratted on them. If nothing was wrong, why remove the collar and dump the dog in a ditch? Why was the other dog half dead , when it was found? I would be willing to bet that the dogs wandered up, she called her trigger happy son, because they were on their property. Here in Lamar county it happens all the timeto dogs that cross over on someone's propety. No one knows for sure what happened, but the Pippins. For them to dump the dog , remove tags and not say a word til the finger was pointed at them says alot about what type of people they are.. dishonest and sneaky
They didn't just kill the dog. They killed the dog and hid it, then kept their secret while the whole county was trying to figure out the mystery. Every farmer would agree that shooting or shooting at a dangerous stray dog is part of farming. But covering it up makes it illegal and immoral. For Mrs. Pippin, it wasn't an issue of protecting her family or her livestock, it was a matter of protecting herself from the public. And it backfired. She's lost the respect of everybody in this county. She'll never put it behind her.
May be one of her cows will moo in a angry manner and somebody will shoot it and then they can get probation milam and the judge are a bunch of push overs I wish pippin would have had to buy the city of griffin a new dog she should slaughter a damn cow and feed them steak raggady ole heffer
You can refresh your memory of this by going to cbs channel 46 in atlanta and typing Officer Moxon in the search box and check video. The dog was used in bomb sniffing and criminal apprehension and man search. My cousin trained police dogs for years. I would go in the back yard and he would put the leather gloves and protective gear on. I would release one of the german shepherds and shout a command and they would go after him , then he would shout the command to stop and they would stop and sitdown. Then they got treats and we would play ball with them. My kids played with them and they were only aggressive when commanded to do so. I do not believe those dogs were aggressive unless they were given a command. I personally believe if any dog crossed this womans propery it was dead. It's a shame they got a slap on the wrist. That tells me in your community police dogs are looked upon as an average dog. I wonder if it would have been someone else not affliated with county or city gov., what sentencing they would have received? They tried to cover it up. It says in the story Mrs. Pippins removed the collar , they threw the dog in back of the truck and dumped it out on a dirt road. She washed the blood out of the grass, where the dog was laying. That right there is intent to cover up . I also believe they knew the dogs. Officer Moxon did not live far from them from what the articles I have read stated.
if it was truley self defense they would not even have gotten probation there last name is pippin say what you want that name got them off with a slap on the wrist.
I don't know the whole story about this case, but if a dog was on my property acting aggressive, I would shoot him.
That being said, I would never condone the killing of an animal unless it was for the purpose of consuming that game. Just going out and shooting animals just for the heck of it is wrong.
If the dog was just strolling through and you shoot him, that is wrong. How about get in the truck and shoo him off or put him out somewhere else.
Useful knowledge:
Cruelty to animals is one of the 3 points of interest in "the terrible triad" with reference to killers.
1. cruelty to animals
2. fire starting
3. bed-wetting
Good heavens! You can't convict a child molester of raping a child but you want someone who shot a dog to go to prison. What kind of logic do you people use? How many of you have gone into the courtroom and simply observed the system at work? Quit complaining about what you do not understand.
Why did they remove the tags from the dog, then transport the dog to another location and try and hide everything. Remember the only way they got caught was they were told on. If everything happened as they said, why hide it. I would lie too in order to cover my butt!!!!!
She should have been shown the same level of disrespect that she gave to people who lost their homes. Her fat butt should have been locked up. Well, hell. Thats life in LC.
Can you say "obstruction of justice"?
This is my biggest problem. A former employee of the county, and she is covering up the truth in an investigation- THAT'S where I have a problem in this case.
Well, well and who do we have here, Ms. Geraldine speaking up for herself?
So tell us Ms. Gerri what did happen, you were in the service and know how to fire a gun yourself so why call the son to come do it for you? Nope this crap floats.......
Are you plain dumb or what? They knew what they were doing! Why didn't they call 911 and say that had been attacked? THEY TRIED TO COVER IT UP! Take off your rose colored glasses butt hole!
If that dog came onto my private poperty and looked like it was gonna attack me or any family member I would have shot it too but I wouldn't have lied about it. The dog was off-duty and was roaming around when it should have been on a leash. This police officer flies through B'ville to Griffin on his way to and from work and he should obey the speed limit just like everybody else does.
This is old news. I hate that the dog was killed, but he should have never been out in the first place.
If the dog was properly secured by this fine police officer, he would still be working.
I shoot any dog or cat that comes onto my property. Unfortunately since I am inside the city limits, I am limited to my high power pellet gun. If ya'll don't like that, you come and pick up all the dog/cat feces in my yard.
i find it hard to believe that pippin would have pulled out a 9mm while being searched in a traffic stop and shot the dog.. so i am left to assume that it was on her property. if the dog was on her property with no cop around.. um.. i would shoot too. police dogs don't play and they aren't friendly. if i saw one coming up to one of my kids or animals.. i wouldn't ask questions before i defended my own. don't get mad because someone valued their kids/pets/livestock more than they did some unknown dog that doesn't seem friendly.
If I'm not mistaken, a person can plead guilty to a lesser charge at the recommendation of their attorney without having to see a judge. I'm told that this is what happened in this case....that they didn't go before a judge.
This was a stray dog when killed, not a police officer. You would have a point if the dog was in action doing police work. But in this case the dog was running free because of negligence of his handler, or are you claiming the Pippens came and dognapped the dog from his cage then shot and killed him/her?
I would say the Pippens should have called and reported having to shoot the dog when it was on their property, but otherwise to me they were well within their right to protect themselves if they at all felt threatened by some unknown dog that showed up in their yard.
If you want to blame someone for this dog's death, blame whoever it was that did not keep the dog properly caged.
I agree. I don't trust a dog I do not know. If it acted aggressive, I would put it down. But, I would not haul it somewhere else and hide the fact that I did it if that happened. Not coming forward with information makes it seem like you are hiding something.
If I saw a 'vicious-looking' dog coming at me, my family, or any of my animals, I would drop it without a second thought. I can honestly say though, I would not pull off its collar (i.e. police dog identification) and pretend nothing had happened until the issue was pressed. That's the problem I have with this whole thing... I could care less who did this; it's just plain wrong. I would also like to voice my admiration and respect for all you dog owners who know without a doubt, 24 hours a day, that your dog is exactly where you saw it last.
The dog was in their yard while Ms. Pippin's grandchildren were outside playing. The dog acted aggressive, and they shot it. I would have done the same thing. Police dog or not!!! We still have the right to protect our families in this country.
There was another case of obstruction in the paper.(the only crime the Pippins committed) That person received 12 months probation, $300 fine, and search and specimen clause. So Ms. Pippin's punishment seems reasonable. Maybe she should have received a search and specimen clause too?
Oh, and by the way. All it takes is for a dog to chase the cows to cause harm.
This is very simple. If you shoot a dog on your property and feel justified in doing so, when it turns out people are looking for the dog - dont hide what you did..if your right, then you have nothing to worry about. It was very shady to hide the fact that the dog was shot. Own up to your actions.
I think there is much left out of the story. When I was a kid if your dog went on someone else's property it could be shot and there would be no charges. That was understood. I like dogs. I have owned dogs most of my life but I have been biten three time by other peoples dogs. I wont hesitate to put a cap in a dogs a$$. Any dog or human who is a threat to me or my family get two center mass and one head. I have been around these types of trained dogs and if they are on my property, they are a threat and they are dead. With the information here it looks like the police and dog are guilty and the shooter is not.....so much for the armchair.
People are seeming to forget that the Pippens were not charged with killing the dog. They were charged for lying about it and trying to cover it up. Had they actually been charged for killing the police dog then probation would have not been the outcome, however a petty crime as giving false information to police is a probation worthy offense. Actually with the way our criminal system is here I'm surprised they even got that.
And what about the other dog that was beaten and left to die in a ditch? The dog survived but have we forgotten about that poor dog?
In my book, anyone who would harm an animal like that has some dangerous tendencies.
And let's go back and revisit this: There was a coverup and obstruction of justice here. That is reprehensible behavior.
Listen up people: No one is arguing about the fact that they shot the dog (if indeed he was a threat). The problem is the COVER UP!!!!!!!
Why would you not just call and report the incident as soon as it happened if indeed it happened the way they claim? Something is WRONG in this scenario.
Who knows if the grandchild was there? Maybe she made it up to protect her sons actions. Was the grandchild old enough to make a statement? Maybe her son was beating the female dog and the male dog came on the scene and he killed him . Who knows, but the ones that took part in this. I have heard her son has issues anyway. It doesn't make sense why animal control or the sheriff's dept. wasn't called to handle this to begin with. I understand she has dogs. Did these police dogs attack her dogs? I think Ms. Pippin lied to protect her son even though he did wrong. How many times do we see that in society today. Protecting the kids when they do wrong or commit a crime. The kids end up being a problem in society because they think in their mind they can get away with anything because that is the way they were brought up. "Mama will take care of it." Live in Lamar county and blow away all the animals that cross over into your property . All you have to say is it showed signs of aggression. Forget about it being some child's pet that they love dearly and are bonded to. I had a pet get out of my fenced in yard about 5 years ago. Someone had bought the 15 acres that connects to my property. When I was pulling out , I noticed a guy using a bobcat on the acreage. I got home late that evening from work and both of my pets were gone. I went to the back of my fence and he had ripped half of my fence off. Never left a note apologizing. He could have at least pulled the fence back up. My one dog made it home. The other made it throw the back of my woods and apparently collapsed from the gunshot. They had collars and tags. My granddaughter was devastated for a long time over the loss of her black lab who she slept with and was comfort for her with everything going on in her life with her parents divorce . Have you people ever thought about shooting a gun in the air to scare the animal away. My granddad used to do that , if an animal had crossed over on his farm. I have never seen an animal that will not take off running away at the sound of a gun shot.
Very interesting. I am sure that was brought up in The Back Plea Room, right Milam? What was the answer to this question? You all would have been better to just giving them a huge fine and not make them pay it.
Then you would have looked tough instead of sneaky. Although you would really be sneaky instead of tough.
That is quite evident in Lamar County. With Milam in office, the Judge could actually take Court day off. The Leader of Pleaders is on duty.
This county reminds me of the time I lived in Nevada. It had the lowest crime rate in the United States. After I moved there I figured out the reason. Everything was legal. No speed limits outside city limits, prostitution and gambling were legal. Let the judge go, clone Milam and you will save money and have the lowest crime rate in the world. You may have unsolved murders that last over a quarter of a century...but big deal. Right?
Jimi may have been on the job at the time. Sniffing some drugs from that homestead. Maybe that is why he broke out and went too far sniffing. Just saying...
this just goes to show you how corrupt Lamar Co is along with all the other surrounding counties. Vote all the crooked out, but wait I don't trust NONE of them
Ok, so they didn't go and tell anyone about what happened. Do they have to?
Fact is, they didn't have to talk to the police or anyone about it.
Seems to me had they kept their mouths shut, they wouldn't have even gotten probation, but they thought it over and came clean, and were ultimately arrested for it, even though I think they were well within their rights.
Thats why you never make any statement to the police, ever, without the presence of an attorney, and even then, you have the right to protect yourself against incrimination.
Remember, you can't be charged with making a false statement, if you didn't make any statement.
Im still trying to figure out what Larry Waller has to do with this. Is he suppose to be the judge and DA?
These people got off easy and it is not right. Blame the judge and the DA. Now let me say this reallll sloooow. They killed a dog on their property. I guess they have that right. The problem is that instead of reporting that they killed a viscious police dog, they chose to cover up what they did. If they did no wrong then why cover it up. I wouldnt have. I would have reported it as soon as I realized it was a K-9. Most people with any integrity would do so. Also people who where not guilty of anything would do so. If they hadnt been ratted out, they never would have came foward. That is sad and truly shows the character of these people.
And please people shut the hell up about the good ole boy system. If you read the paper each week im sure you will realize that people of all backgrounds are arrested repeatedly and they get slapped on the wrist too. Our legal system sucks, not the people trying to enforce the laws. The laws protect the criminals and you can thank all of the liberal nut cases for that.
Sheila Tolley:
You complain about all of the elected officals.
That seems to be all you do about everything. Why don,t you move to another county, if you are so unhappy.
If you are married he must not like or talk to you. Because you allways on here complaining.
Get a life!!
Good point brought up by my pen pardner there! We may name a chapter after Jimi. What about that Not Shelia Tolley? You are the boss of the book, remember.
Bill Gates pays me MEGA bucks to blog in over 2500 newspapers across our lovely nation. He just has one major rule. Don't waste much of your valuable opinions on Anonymous blogs. They are insignificant. Gotta run on to converse with someone important............
Oh look...it's Daffy Duck. "Hi Daffy. Let's do lunch and talk, I got time to kill."
all these crazy comments, man lamar is full of gosepers and b,s talkers.alot of folks are guilty of shooting a stray dog on there property.so whats new?and for all the talkers on here to prove you dont know what your talking about the pippins no longer have cows you idiots.and what ever happened to . you shall not judge others, oh let me guess all you on here doing the gossiping must have taken the bible out of your homes as well as the schools...
I feel really bad for deputies who risk their lives daily to have criminals brought to court, so Milam can plead them down and walk them out. He should rent himself out as an escort after election, cause he has that walking thing down. Or maybe rent himself out to weddings who have fatherless brides, he could walk them right down that aisle. Hippity-hop
Y'all lay off my little woman. You don't realize how hard it is to be a full time blog activist. The hours are long and the wages are low and appreciation is lacking except for the intelligent readers who can discern reality from complaining.
Furthermore, my Sweetie doesn't have to move to another county. She can be stationary in Podnuk, Alabama and her well thought opinions can reach all cyberspace to bring enlightement to the blogging community.
You say: Get a life!..hmmphf to you! My Sheila has a fine life besides being a well dressed and beautiful woman. It is a pleasure to wake up to her smiling face each and every day. A day without Sheila is like a day without sausage and grits. Sheila never complains about elected officials. Sheila performs a public service by alerting citizens to those public "servants" who under perform in their sworn duties.
Lay off my gal! She is fine! She is happy! She is smart and sexy too!
You must live off of Atlanta St. or Icehouse St. where they keep dogs on 2 ft. clotheslines.and feed them leftovers if anything is left. If they are lucky to get loose they haul tail. With your attitude you deserve a dumptruck load of dog crap in your yard. Throw flower seeds out. With all that fertilizer, your yard should be in full bloom by next spring.
When Cousin Roy was visiting Pike County in 1964, he was searching for the right words to pen another best selling song, he saw a pretty but shy young teenager named Sheila walking by. Immediately, the words came to OL' Roy. He said "Pretty woman walking down the street"...and growled "Mercy".. yeah. yeah. yeah. Oh Pretty Woman.
The rest is history and that shy teenaged girl named Sheila grew up to be our very own Sheila Tolley. A sweet lady we love and admire.
the bible blind people of this county are the reason that the corruption continues.everyone of the people involved are folks who are members of your local churchs
see the man in the tractor in the HOMEGROWN AD for united bank, that explains it all. money and power can get you out of anything. dont get me wrong , the pippins have always been very nice to me but having said that everyone should be treated fairly.they have alot of power and sit on many boards.lets see if you will print this comment , my last one about united bank never got printed. wonder why? everyone in this community needs to know about the stimulus money and what they did with it. they certainly didnt break any laws but they didnt help the people of this community either. homegrown--- i had just as soon get screwed over by people i dont know as well as people i do. united bank is no better than goldman sacs.
Oh yeah, I remember those cows. They were different from other cows. They had bullseye targets on the side of them. Some people use bottles, clay discs, bullseyes on haystacks for target pratice but the Pippins are different. They use animals.
Nice christian comment there Marsha. You obviously dont know the facts of the case. People like you are a waste of oxygen. I think my IQ just dropped from reading your blog. I would shot another dog or animal if it was attacking me or my family. Someone like you would let a animal kill their child or maul them "because that is the right thing to do".LOL. I am up town all the time, you cant miss me. I am 6'4 215 pounds. You will not say anything to me or my moms faces because you are a coward and would rather hide behind a computer. Im am getting on with my life i suggest you do the same. Get a life for Gods sake. Have a nice day.
I always loved Bubba for that act of kindness. If you remember he was actually watching my sister Gail walking by when he penned the song.
But being the Tomboy I was at the time, I beat him until he yelled, "UNCLE." I would not let him up until he promised to tell the world that the song was about me. Since I have aged a mere forty-six years since then, I am The Queen of the Dollar General now. Thank you, Bubba.
in reply to #84 anonymous, i agree with you all the way til you said "Our legal system sucks, not the people trying to enforce the laws"....go back and check up the recent history of the people in law enforcement in Lamar County who are now in prison or were recently in prison. The guys who use to do all the big drug busts in Lamar County are now convicted felons FOR DRUG POSSESSION. Our law enforcement have failed us. Plain and simple.
Your all just jealous. The Pippins have work there tails off all there lives.
Nothing was given to them they earned it. Which is more than can be said for a lot of people.
As far as Tolley, You just have nothing else to do. I bet you are a obama supporter also.
The Pippins have been prosocuted and got their fines and community service. Will you people move on and find something better to talk about. Lets take a look at the real criminal in this case...CHAD MOXON. He should negligence by not keeping his dogs penned up and secure, he let his dogs run free and terrorize the community, he lied to the Lamar County Sheriffs Office about his dogs being stolen from his kennel, he was lucky these vicious, underfed, mangral dogs did not hurt or kill some child or adult. Did anything happen to this good ol boy cop? NO!! He was not fined, demoted, hell the Griffin Police gave him another dog. I hate crooked cops and Griffin is full of them. You know who this is and if your dog attacts my family or me again, im suing the city of Griffin and make sure you lose your job. You sorry crooked cops give the descent hard working police officers a bad name. Have a nice life living with what you have done.
A agree that Moxon was negligent with his dogs and their housing. He did try to say they were stolen and lied to LCSO investigators. However, the real problem comes in when the dog was hidden or moved around the county to throw investigators off. This is wrong. You/they didnt come forward about the issue until confronted about it. For this, I think that a 12 month sentence should have been given and they could have done 90 days of it. The sheriffs dept should have been notified when the dog was shot and you discovered that it was property of spalding co.
Wrong. Ma Barker and her son weren't prosecuted. They might have been inconvenienced but not prosecuted. I bet if the da and judge allowed it to go to another county because of conflict of interest, they would have gotten prosecuted. You need to move on. If you have a problem reading the comments on this article shut off your computer. Were there any police reports or calls from neighbors about the dogs running free? Did your mom ever call or you? If they were running free and people were being confronted by these police dogs I am sure someone would have called the sheriff's dept. Looks like to me your family rules the roost around Zeller Road and makes their own laws because they are "The Pippins". Kind of like Dodge City. I bet if Officer Moxon had an opportunity to go back in 2007 and buy property he would have gone in another part of Lamar county. His dog would still be alive. By the way, the comments are supposed to be about the article. The Pippins and their "sentencing". I hope you do sue Griffin and they counter sue. Maybe that is what is needed to put you in your place.
Destruction of Government property? The dog was loose, roaming around and according to the Pippins acting aggressively. The only crime they committed was Obstruction and maybe illegal dumping. If you go back and read the paper, there was another case of obstruction. That person received $300 fine,12months probation and search and specimen clause.
I'm not a fan of Milam or Waller. What else were they supposed to have done?
Here we are again blaming Officer Moxon for the whole ordeal. From what I understand, Moxon called the local investigators to inform them of the missing dogs and that he believed the gate had been tampered with. The investigators then went out to investigate and came to the conclusion that the dogs must have manipulated the gate and escaped. Officer Moxon accepted this conclusion and simply continued looking for his missing pets, he did not continue to stress the idea that someone stole the dogs or demand a new investigation. How does one draw the conclusion that he lied to the investigators from those facts? The only mistake Officer Moxon may have committed was the fact that the dogs were left outside rather than in kennels inside, as some of you say. I, as well as many others would assume that a 6ft tall fence with a gate would be appropriate for any dog to run freely, but apparently not. On a second note, I do not believe the dogs were of any threat to the Pippins. The person that reported the Pippins testified that there was not a child present at the time of the incidence and the dogs were not approaching the family at all; GP simply did not want the dogs swimming in her pond. I for one can say that I, along with other in our community, would never consider shooting her bloodhounds when they visit OUR homes or block the road while taking naps. Granted I guess that makes me a different person.
Finally, the dogs were not mistreated or under fed as is evident by the many pictures taken before and after the shootings and also publicized, so that comment is a load of crock. Would Griffin PD really allow an officer to get away with mistreating a multi thousand dollar investment? Not likely.
Needless to say, I hear Jager is doing well after recovering from his injuries and is enjoying the company of his new brother Freddie. RIP Jimi.
You are a crooked Barnesville official or a Pippin. Crooked applies in both cases. You can barter your beef and trade your favors on earth. But God is a vegetarian.
You obviously do not do much blog reading. If they made a scale the size of the earth to measure my repulsion for obama, it would not be big enough. If you really trust the judicial system here, only one of two things can be true. You are part of the crooked, underhanded, covering up, and favoritism that is shown, or you are REALLY naive. More naive than my new little puppy that doesn't know his medicine is in that delicious puppy food. His name is Justice ....so you will not see him in Barnesville. There is no defense for bought off elected officials. If you are on their winning side...it will not last forever. Karma is just real busy right now.
What? No cow tipping event. I am sad now. I will go and sit and pout in front of United Bank. I personally love United Bank, they cover all my bounced checks for a small fee. United we stand.
I must say that I do respect you for not using a capital letter in the catastrophic word obama. Perhaps you have learned something from my blogs. Now go and eat a hamburger, you just said the Pippin's lost their tails...they need your support...eat more beef. Milam cannot do everything...he let them go, you should at least eat cows.
WHO said Cpl Moxon lied about his dog being stolen? Did you see that on paper or just spatin off at the mouth like normal Barnesville people do? How was the dogs housing and how do you know are you a professional dog cage builder? I highly doubt it so like everbody in this town that dosen't know the facts keep talking and bashing people and have a awfull weekend!
A makeshift cage? Have you been the Moxon's house to see this "cage?" I highly recommend you going to investigate this "makeshift cage" and I pray you get treated with the same hospitality as the Pippins gave those two dogs.
Sheila, don't worry. We are all 'wanting justice' and I do believe I hear Karma heading this way! I know some people who are gonna be meeting her real soon.....and I hear that she is a b#$ch!
"He tried too say the dogs were taken. That was a lie. they were not secured properly and were in a makeshift cage."
That's right. Waller had a helicopter up looking for these animals as well. Remember, the accusations were flying fast and furious and a reward was offered for "more information".
Now, in light of these facts and a helicopter buzzing overhead, are YOU going to stand right up and "invite the man" into your life?
Especially when "the man" is likely to jail your butt for months regardless of your guilt or innocence. See Waller's treatment of the accused individual in the Milner Police officer shooting. Jailed for SEVEN MONTHS for something he did do.
If these vicious animals are prone to escape, why aren't our county commissioners banning the practice of keeping them at residential areas?
"Have you been the Moxon's house to see this "cage?" I highly recommend you going to investigate this "makeshift cage"
An altogether excellent idea. It is obvious the installation was inadequate to secure these dangerous animals since they managed to escape. What is to keep it from happening again? Will it take the mauling of a child to get effective measures taken for the inane practice of allowing vicious animals to be kept in residential areas?
Questios, questions. But few answers. Just an out of control law enforcement authority that should have never been "brought back".
Lets get K-9 dogs uniforms, hats, badges, bullet proof vests, boots to wear at all times so will know they are with law enforcement. And big shiny collars with big shiny PD tags, since this dog had none of these LOL. All this dog had was a old black nylon collar with NO tags! This would have never went this far if it was not a police dog or involved Geraldine Pippin. The only karma that is coming back is back on all you crooked cops. There is a special place in hell for you.
How do you know what kind of collar he had on? The collar that is still missing none the less. Hmmmm I'm sure Officer Moxon would like the collar and tags back. And why did a police dog shooting turn into "ohhh he must be a dirty cop," he's never been in the media or reprimanded for anything crooked that I'm aware of, and has actually been elevated to a management position based on education and work performance and is also a member of many of the various units at GPD. Sounds like a pretty dang good guy to me. Are you jealous?
A POLICE DOG IS A DEADLY WEAPON. THE DOG SHOULD HAD BEED ISSUE AS A WEAPON TO THE OFFICER, NOT A PET. THE DOG ACTED TO THE UNKNOWN TO THE PIPPIN TO THE GUN AND THEIR RESPONCES TO REMOVE HIM FROM THIER PROPERTY AS A SIGN TO ATTACK. GET THE FACTS PROIR TO THINKING ANYONE GOT A DEAL UNWORTHY. IT IS SAD A DOG IS DEAD, AND TOO MANY PEOPLE GOT HURT IN ALL THIS MATTER. NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND LIKES TO SEE DEATH OF NAME, MORALS, LIFE, AND TIME. PRAY FOR GRACE AND NOT JUDGEMENT.

That will learn 'em not to shoot a police dog.
Who was the judge? Oh, don't tell me.
Let me guess....
So I guess the Moxon guy will have to suffer!
They would have put me in jail till I rotted!!!
I wonder who got the $300. it cost Mr. Pippin and the $100. it cost her ?!!!
HE OR SHE IS A CRAPPY JUDGE.
MILLAM IS A CRAPPY DA.
VOTE THEM ALL OUT>
If you truly knew what happened, then you might think getting a criminal record over this (a misdemeanor is still a crime) is actually too much.
Let a mean looking dog come after me, I'll do what I have to do as well.
Now, the Pippin bashing can resume.
I'm a little irritated by this.
Maybe if Mr. Moxon had kept his dog contained. Then there would not have been a problem to begin with.
Mr Moxon should be prosecuted for failing to contain Spalding county tax payer property.
IT'S SICKENING.
They purposefully murdered and then covered up said murder ... they are SICK
3. bed-wetting
This is my biggest problem. A former employee of the county, and she is covering up the truth in an investigation- THAT'S where I have a problem in this case.
So tell us Ms. Gerri what did happen, you were in the service and know how to fire a gun yourself so why call the son to come do it for you? Nope this crap floats.......
As proven by Pippin
The DA's a'slippin
I would say the Pippens should have called and reported having to shoot the dog when it was on their property, but otherwise to me they were well within their right to protect themselves if they at all felt threatened by some unknown dog that showed up in their yard.
If you want to blame someone for this dog's death, blame whoever it was that did not keep the dog properly caged.
Oh, and by the way. All it takes is for a dog to chase the cows to cause harm.
In my book, anyone who would harm an animal like that has some dangerous tendencies.
And let's go back and revisit this: There was a coverup and obstruction of justice here. That is reprehensible behavior.
Why would you not just call and report the incident as soon as it happened if indeed it happened the way they claim? Something is WRONG in this scenario.
but their paperwork did!
Then you would have looked tough instead of sneaky. Although you would really be sneaky instead of tough.
I think destroying government property comes into play here?
This county reminds me of the time I lived in Nevada. It had the lowest crime rate in the United States. After I moved there I figured out the reason. Everything was legal. No speed limits outside city limits, prostitution and gambling were legal. Let the judge go, clone Milam and you will save money and have the lowest crime rate in the world. You may have unsolved murders that last over a quarter of a century...but big deal. Right?
Theodore Roosevelt (1858 - 1919)
This does not read as a plea deal does it?
Ok, I agree they handled it wrong in the end, but they were probably afraid once they learned it was a "police dog", out of fear of retribution.
Regardless, police dog or not, if a mean looking dog comes after me or mine, I'll take it out too.
Fact is, they didn't have to talk to the police or anyone about it.
Seems to me had they kept their mouths shut, they wouldn't have even gotten probation, but they thought it over and came clean, and were ultimately arrested for it, even though I think they were well within their rights.
Remember, you can't be charged with making a false statement, if you didn't make any statement.
You complain about all of the elected officals.
That seems to be all you do about everything. Why don,t you move to another county, if you are so unhappy.
If you are married he must not like or talk to you. Because you allways on here complaining.
Get a life!!
And do some cow tippin
Those old time recreations should be brought back anyway.
Oh look...it's Daffy Duck. "Hi Daffy. Let's do lunch and talk, I got time to kill."
Bubba Orbison
Yes suh!
But being the Tomboy I was at the time, I beat him until he yelled, "UNCLE." I would not let him up until he promised to tell the world that the song was about me. Since I have aged a mere forty-six years since then, I am The Queen of the Dollar General now. Thank you, Bubba.
Nothing was given to them they earned it. Which is more than can be said for a lot of people.
As far as Tolley, You just have nothing else to do. I bet you are a obama supporter also.
I'm not a fan of Milam or Waller. What else were they supposed to have done?
Finally, the dogs were not mistreated or under fed as is evident by the many pictures taken before and after the shootings and also publicized, so that comment is a load of crock. Would Griffin PD really allow an officer to get away with mistreating a multi thousand dollar investment? Not likely.
Needless to say, I hear Jager is doing well after recovering from his injuries and is enjoying the company of his new brother Freddie. RIP Jimi.
OFF.

Policer officers must be POST certified and mandated in Georgia. Did the dog pass this standardized training?
Wow, thank you for your erudite and concise appraisal of my remarks. Guess you told me didn't you?
Helpful hint: You didn't...Larry...
