As we approach one of the heaviest travel periods of the year, many are threatening to boycott Transporation Security Administration searches at American airports.

It's about so much more than just flying. True, flying is not a right. However, neither is driving on the highways. If we allow this kind of abuse, what's keeping the federal government from expanding the reach even further. They are already talking about spreading it to trains and railroads.
We can't allow the government to take our freedom. The 4th amendment is there for a reason. TSA officers are not even law enforcement officers. Real law enforcement can't do this and get away with it.....yet.
Yes, if you don't like it don't fly. But what are you going to do when you can't fly, get on a train, or drive? Think it won't happen? If you had told people 10 years ago that the TSA would be molesting children before they could get on a plane (look up screaming toddler search, child strip search, 3yo search on youtube) would you have believed it?
Oh, also, TSA has confirmed that Muslims are exempted from the searches due to a conflict in religion.
"Don't like it, don't fly" ...How ridiculous. The airlines are PRIVATE companies, NOT govenment agencies, yet the government has forced itself in and is taking them over. People are getting fed up, and our congressmen are now listening, and hopefully will take action to limit this overzealous government intrusion soon.
I am also amused at this "Privelidge" crap, like the claim of "Driving is a privelidge" and so on. How is that? Does the government take away all our natural, God given freedoms and such at birth, and "give" us back what it wants us to have, thus we gain "privelidges" this way? Are we really that dependant on the government?
It has been so long since I have been fondled, I am flying somewhere. Round trip. I might even starch my darts in my blouse. That should require a follow up feel.
(Bring it on back, you humorless jerks. I am reloading now.)
You bet.
"They", being local governments, decided it would be a good idea to call driving a priveledge to levy a tax on us. It was called a driver's license. Innocently enough, only truck driver's need said license to build roads. Then it was everyone. Then it was excise taxes...then fuel taxes...plates, inspection fees, speed laws to collect more revenue. Seat belt laws....on and on. It always starts with something small, then icrementally is increased. All governements who have central banks controlling the economy do this. ALL. That is why the founding father's put Congress in control of currency.
The 30's in Germany, saw folks stopped randomly on the streets..."Papers please." Very polite. Then it was roadblocks...then public searches, then stripping people in public...then just marching them off to be shot.
Just because our so called leaders...and I do mean both parties, wrap themselves in an American flag, does not mean they are for the people.
"Fascism will come wrapped in a flag and carrying the Bible." Sinclair Lewis.
"...it is the leaders of coutries who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a facist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always been brought to the bidding of their leaders. It is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists as for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." Hermann Goering
The sad thing is, all you "it makes me feel good that they are doing this" people don't realize, is that it will unfortunately still happen again regardless of all the over-intrusiveness to us.
I don't have all the answers, but I do know that the government coming in and treating everyone like a criminal is not one of them.
While the airlines are technically private, virtually all aspects of the industry are highly regulated from flight paths, gate allotments, take-off & landing slots, not to mention numerous subsidies they have received from the government. More importantly, let's not forget that 9/11 occurred when the airlines funded and ran airport security, which was such a joke, most frequent flyers were surprised it took so long for the terrorists to figure out how to use the airlines as a bombing device.
As we were told while our car was being searched at the gate of Naval Training Great Lakes when we went up for our daughter's graduation from boot camp, "be sure to thank Bin Laden for this".
I haven't been on a plane for several months, so don't know just how intrusive TSA is right now, but I will let you know next time I fly.
tell you what. why doesn't the tsa stop doing search's and you go ahead and write your will out. that way when you get on a plane to fly somewhere and the nut job that just sit down next to you decides it's time to blowup the plane you wil have things in order. if there was noone to do security and make sure bombs and such dont make it on planes then all hell would break loose.you go to bed at night and lock your doors or when you leave your car in a parking lot at the mall you lock it up. RIGHT?
Why do you do that? let's see. you want to keep your family safe and make sure you will have your belonging safe for you to use next time.
Well same thing here. if there wasn't anyone to check things out then the plane you are on might not ever reach where it was supposed to go.Times have changed and so have people so we all have to pay the price even if it is getting padded down to keep us safe. i bet the people on the flights would have loved for the ones that took over the planes to have been padded down cause they would still be alive today.
BTW when you make that will out leave everything to me since you dont seem to care about keeping it for yourself!
Drunk drivers have killed more people than terrorist have:
I say, at every bar we hold checkpoints. Each person is made to get out of their car, submit to blood tests just to make sure there is absolutely no alcohol in their system. This includes any vehicle in the area of the bar. If a bus full of little league football players just happen to drive by at that time they are submitted to the blood tests to. We can't be too careful. WE can easily get away with this as the highways and roads are owned by the government and driving on these roads is not a right.
School shootings have killed more people than terrorist:
I suggest that in order to enter the school building you must pass through the ESA (Education Security Administration). Children and adults must submit to the same standards as currently in place in order to board a plane. All children, regardless of age, will submit to an enhance patdown. We have to make sure that no guns or bombs enter the schools. Of course this is simple to approve as schools receive government funding so they will submit to these regulations.
I guess those that approve of what the TSA is currently doing would be ok with the above as well? If you say it can't happen, tell me the difference in why it cant?
I agree totally.
And since there have been more deaths due to bee stings in the last few years, I suggest we have a bee task force..BTF.
We must wrestle down these bees. In fact, I think we should put little bee turbins on their heads so they'll bee al queda bees.
Please Mr. government man...save me save me.
Hey!!! You want to protect the people? Take away all these silly gun laws. Allow folks to open carry.
The people will end this farce just by being armed.
Driving is indeed a privilege. You are granted the privilege when you turn sixteen and pass the necessary tests. The privilege can be taken away if one does not abide by the necessary rules.
A drunk driver or school shooter has not killed 3000 people in one incident. I prefer to fly safely, even if it takes searches.
BUT..BUT..I think when a person is caught carring anything that is related to a terrorist act or plot..the military should handle the trial. Our country is too soft on major crimes. They need to go down like Saddam and just as quickly.
Driving is not a right nor a privilege. Look up the real definition of "privilege" before you continue with your famous wisdom.
You have all your God given, natural rights at birth, and then an oppressive government comes in and takes them all from you, and delegates what you may have back, and calls them "Rights" and "privileges".
"Driving is a privilege", say it enough times, and folks with lower intelligence will believe it. Pay the mandated fees and pass some tests, and anyone can do it, privileged status not necessary.
If it isnt a constitutional right, then you are bound by the laws of this land, and at its discretion, they will determine what you are allowed to have.
God gave us dominion over all things on earth right? Doesnt that include bald eagles, marijuana plants, shrooms, coca plants, elephant tusks, etc. There is no constitutional right to free govnt healthcare, driving a vehicle or anything like this. You obey laws and you will be allowed to do certain things. You violate certain laws and you lose that option to do it.
Unless you were driving around in your Mother's womb, driving is a privilege.
"A privilege is a special entitlement to immunity granted by the state or another authority to a restricted group, either by birth or on a conditional basis. It can be revoked in certain circumstances. In modern democratic states, a privilege is conditional and granted only after birth. By contrast, a right is an inherent, irrevocable entitlement held by all citizens or all human beings from the moment of birth."
Just because something isn't a "Constitutional right" doesn't mean it is therefore a privelige.
Driving, smoking, staying up late, running a business, giving a massage, etc. aren't rights nor priveliges, even if you can do them, or be prevented from doing so.
After spending billions of dollars to hire the patters and x rated machines and wasting billions of hours of the traveling public's time, not to mention the personal attack on innocent children, older people and the traveling public.
Can anyone tell me where the TSA has caught even one terrorist?
if you are a convicted felon you cant even own one. If they come to your house and there is a gun in the closet, you are up shit creek if you are a convited felon.
What scares me the most about these infringement on our rights is that the TSA that had been given all this illegal power is called the Transportation Security Administration. They aren't the Air Port SA or Airline SA. There is absolutely nothing keeping them from practicing these same powers on ALL our public transportation, including our highways. I think this is a test. If the public allows the TSA to do whatever they want, they will just do that, whatever they want.
Nope. Muzzie there will make a fine target when the time comes. Two in the head should do the job no problem.
Coming soon.
We can't allow the government to take our freedom. The 4th amendment is there for a reason. TSA officers are not even law enforcement officers. Real law enforcement can't do this and get away with it.....yet.

This is why our representatives are now stepping in and investigating these tolitarian tactics the government is using.
"Don't like it, then take your country back and change it" ...Like the "tea party" did.

Enough said
Driving, smoking, staying up late, running a business, giving a massage, etc. aren't rights nor priveliges, even if you can do them, or be prevented from doing so.
Some people like your President does not have that right.
You would be a pilot.
Confucius
'nuff said.
Carrying firearms is a privilege that can be revoked.
Can anyone tell me where the TSA has caught even one terrorist?
What is the function of the TSA?
