I am so sorry to hear this. May you rest in peace Mr. Sellier, and my family's best wishes and prayers go out to his family in this terrible time of loss...
Representative Sellier was a credit to the House and to his district. He was dedicated to his little portion of Lamar County and was a huge supporter of our local leadership program. He will be sorely missed.
Mark my words...we will hear of a good ole boy running for this seat by the end of the year. If he can bankrupt the county, will he bankrupt the district?
I first met Rep. Sellier at a Leadership Lamar Induction ceremony and dinner. He was a very interesting man to talk to. He liked and respected animals. He didn't make me feel that my dedication to animal rights causes was foolish and a waste of time as some other politicans have. He knew and appreciated the work of vet Dr. Lori Giles. He knew of the low-cost spay/neuter clinics she conducted for the BLC Humane Society. He was really aware of the area he represented. Even though we were from different political parties, we enjoyed getting to know each other without politics getting in the way. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about each others lives and interests. It just proves that people should be open to others without looking at what makes them different. We should work to make things better for all of us. I think that Rep. Sellier strived to do that for the citizens he represented. He will be missed.
