One key element missing from the government of the last 25+ years is thr lack of compromise by both parties. The founding fathers knew this was key to the success for our country to survive and grow. All of our current group of elected officials are too hard-headed and stubborn to even consider any proposal by the other side. Until this changesN we are destined to fall from our leadership position in the world.
We need a panel of scholars to examine the federal leviathan -- its agencies, its czars, its pronouncements and all its meanderings into American life -- and determine how much of it all is truly authorized by our founding document.
Once the panel makes its recommendations, no one will agree, and the whole idea will quietly disappear. Do you really believe the federal government will willingly dismantle its apparatus? Look, for example, at the lies and distorions regarding the Fair Tax; that proposal covers just one aspect of federal power.
A better way might be to elect people who are willing to do this work instead of the worthless politicians we now elect. Most conservatives lack sincerity once elected, and are easily compromised by the temptations of power. Does anyone know, for example, whether Lynn Westmoreland supports the Fair Tax? What about Saxby Chambliss?
where would get the smart people to examine whether something was constitutional.....the smartest lawyers are on the supreme court and they cant agree what is constitutional.....if you got 50 law professors together, they would not agree whether something is constitional......it is all politics, plain and simple......elections have consquences....learn to accept that fact
Ive said it before....and I'll say it again. Make one law. A law that states anyone in an elected position caught selling their vote (including lobbying), using their position for personal gain, influencing decisions for personal gain, stealing.
Should be tried for treason and hung immediately.
I'm just curious. Whatever gave you the idea that the smartest lawyers are on the Supreme Court? What do you base that on?
My opinion is that those judges are based are on politics and has nothing to do with being smart lawyers. They are appointed by the president…which should be the first clue. Then they go through an approval process by congress….second clue. Congress in power will lean heavily toward an appointee that will likely rule in the direction of their agenda. They are appointed for life; and a congress that wants to change the republic needs only to bide their time and acquire enough justices on the court to undermine the US Constitution.
Now the statement of opinionated controversy: Most conservatives are all about preserving the United States as it was handed down to us from our forefathers. Progressive liberals are hell bent on the destruction of America.
Yes yes...lol. Its that simple. Liberals want to destroy America.
Perhaps its that good people have different ideas on what will save America, if that is in the cards.

And as Americans we are to make sure it is not
taken over by the communist people.
