Moore's first buck a monster

Can't believe nobody has written anything about any of the good that comes from hunting. I'm talking about the good to the animal population as a whole. Someone mentioned looking into the big eyes of a pretty little deer but that pretty little deer wouldn't have those big pretty eyes if it wasn't for hunters. You see the deer population today would soon be too large for the food supply and many of the healthy deer you see would look like WWII concentration camp survivors! The DNR closely monitors the Georgia deer herd and sets bag limitis accordingly. I've heard many old timers talk about growing up in rural Georgia and never seeing deer or wild turkey when they were young. The Georgia DNR has done an outstanding job of bringing the population levels of many game species to numbers that can remain healthy with the present day environment. Oh, by the way, much of the money used to pay for the DNR's conservation work comes from the fees Georgia's hunters must pay in order to hunt. No, I haven't been hunting myself in several years, but I appreciate having the opportunity to view so many of God's wonderful creations that without hunters would be possible today only in zoos!
