I am so sorry to hear of Alonzo's passing. I say Alonzo because I knew him when I was a water plant operator for Barnesville less than a year after I got out of the USMC in 1972 and went to work in Barnesville in 1973. He was such a great friend to me and a great man I say. He is the second friend of mine that were Barnesville police officers that have passed in the last several months and I will miss both of them cause I believe they were both great men, Amen! I hope to see you both soon, along with other friends and relatives who have gone to Heaven,Amen!

I went by and paid my respect to my friend, Alonzo, last night and met some of his family. I pray that God will bless and comfort them in this time of sorrow for them.

Mr. 'Lonzo is what we called him. We knew him as a police and our bus driver. And when we were a little late getting to the bus stop he would not leave us: sometimes he would blow the horn, but he made sure we got to school. He was a kind hearted person.
