Lamar County was not spared in the economic crisis atmosphere of 2010. One of two banks here failed, a record number of home foreclosures were advertised, crime rose steadily as jobs grew scarce, and local schools and government services suffered from state and federal budget cuts.

A needle needs to be put right in the end of that finger.
I think she should get the death penalty ASAP. In lieu of that, the least she should get is life without parole. But, bet me.....she will get neither of these two. The bird woman murderer will be out of jail.....before her next turn at bat.
Milam will see to that!!

Sheila,
I have not followed the Jennifer Clark case in detail. From my experiences, it seems Donald Clark's murder was perpetrated without advance planning by inferior intellect. When I read the complete story immediately after Donald Clark's disappearance, my wife and I stated to each other that Jennifer Clark and Michael Yost most likely killed Donald Clark and his body would be found locally. It appears Jennifer Clark and Michael Yost don't posses mental acumen to plan a 'good' John Gresham murder plot.
As far as a Milam plea deal being offered to Jennifer Clark, I am not aware of one. With Michael Yost rolling on Clark, Milam doesn't have to seek one of his famous plea deals. When the opportunity arises he will deal to 'save money for Lamar County'.
I think as the case progresses and Clark realizes her 15 minutes of fame are over, she and her Public Defender will attempt to settle for LIFE without parole.
Jennifer Clark is the type who will adapt very well behind prison bars. As of now, she fancies herself as a "celebrity" who wants to enjoy that persona the rest of her natural life. However, she will not want to risk a death sentence.
Milam will more than likely speak with Donald Clark's family about the "benefit" of a LIFE sentence without the family having to participate in a gut wrenching murder trial.
If the family shows agreeable interest in a negotiated plea arrangement, Milam will jump and avoid a jury trial. Of course, this is mere supposition on my part.
Once "The Finger" Clark wakes up and realizes she can't win at trial, she can actively pursue a favorable plea deal. If no deal beneficial to her is made, Clark has nothing to lose by going to trial. Jennifer will be able to make many defense claims. Such as, she suffered from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of being abused as a young girl by every male she knew including Geezer, the family's ol' coon hunting dog.
She can cry that she was under the influence of illegal drugs supplied by Donald Clark, or she was battered by Donald Clark and Michael Yost, or she was suffering from
pre-partum depression before the murder and post-partum depression after the murder making her temporarily insane.
She can offer a Bi-Polar defense where as the murder was committed when she was manic from being unable to afford medication and that she admitted the murder while in a state of depression to Rick McCreary after he "forced" the confession from her.
It takes only one bleeding heart obama supporting juror to sympathize with Jennifer Clark and vote not guilty. Because if convicted, that liberal juror knows Clark would be forever denied a chance to be a loving mother and to bond with her baby who was born immediately before her arrest for murder.
Don't forget the "in the heat of the moment" defense where Jennifer Clark can claim she lost control and accidently killed Donald Clark without malice aforethought. Afterward, she was remorseful for her actions and tried to cover up the murder like any scared person would do. ...can't you just see a lone sobbing juror jumping up and shouting, "she aint guilty your honor, let lil' Jenni go home!"
The hairy gorilla in the room is COST. Obtaining a Jennifer Clark murder conviction at the least possible cost is the Milam way. Discount his claim of the case being his "number one priority." Personally speaking, Milam is Milam's Numba 1 priority.
I think Jennifer Clark deserves to DIE, but, does a trial in the Towaliga Judicial Circuit ensure a conviction? No! NO! and He** NO! There are too many STUPID people on juries who render very STUPID decisions. Grand Jury and Gretchen Ellerby anyone?
It takes ONE battered woman juror who silently wishes her own husband dead to mind meld with Jennifer Clark and vote NOT GUILTY. It takes one self-rightous husband juror who thinks Donald Clark deserved to die for permitting Jennifer Clark to stay in the home knowing she was a dangerous woman who was pregnant by current boyfriend Michael Yost with the baby being due anytime.
There are too many variables in a trial and in Jennifer Clark's case I personally would not be offended by a Milam deal. Donald Clark's family and children will survive knowing that Jennifer Clark will breathe fetid prison air until the day she dies. 'Birdwoman' could possibly be forced into an unwilling "bunk buddy" arrangement with the resident 350 pound stinky-bad-girl-butch- murderess.
Jennifer Clark's wise arse attitude could result in another prison lifer shanking her 20-30 times just for fun or she could have a Leland Mark Braley encounter with a bedsheet. Who knows? Strange things happen in prison while serving a life sentence.
Would Jennifer Clark prefer the DEATH PENALTY?
