Another snow day for Lamar students

Students in the Lamar County school system will get to enjoy another day in the snow as schools will be closed Tuesday.

Classes at St. George's Episcopal School are also cancelled.

County offices will open at noon but probate court and juvenile court hearings set for Tuesday have been cancelled.

United Bank locations were open Monday but closed early at 2 p.m. They will open at noon on Tuesday.

The Lamar Co. Water and Sewer Authority office will also be closed Tuesday.

SAN DIEGO -- A war memorial cross in a public park is unconstitutional because it conveys a message of government endorsement of religion, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday in a two-decade-old case.

A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued the unanimous decision in the dispute over the 29-foot (9-meter) cross, which was dedicated in 1954 in honor of Korean War veterans.

In my opinion, the only thing unconstitutional and un-American are the three judges on the panel.

Normally Ozier follows school closings. It is in your manual!

They follow the school closings so if LC schools are closed, they are too.

Ozier Studios has a sign up saying that they follow the Lamar schools, and that if the schools are closed, they will be closed.

Not always... They have classes when we are on fall and winter breaks which contradicts the school calendar. Thanks.

I dont think its a good idea for the buses to go on those back roads tomorrow.Or better yet for the student drivers to drive in ice and they are not experienced in it.Also the teachers shouldnt have to drive way from atlanta in the ice.

I totally agree with the post about teachers having to drive from the Atlanta area and we don't know what some of the more rural areas of Lamar County are like either.

i dont think we should have scool either, the snow and ice is going to melt and freeze again tonight. Also all other schools are closed and LAMAR ISNT. We dont know anything, everyone is clueless

Why dont you just get your butts out of bed and go. If nobodys there then they are closed but if the class room starts filling up then they must be open. Everybody wont learn anything anyway because everybody is more concerned about no school than school.

Just stay home and practice being stupid. You have a good start.
