The Georgia Bulldogs, taking on the passionless persona of their head coach Mark Richt, failed to score a touchdown New Year’s Eve and lost the Liberty Bowl to Central Florida.

Yes, Central Florida – a team with perhaps one player that could make Georgia’s three-deep roster – beat Georgia 10-6.

I know you don't believe in retractions Walter, but you will owe real Dawg fans one when Richt rights the ship next year! Richt's record in his early years at Georgia speaks for itself. He didn't just forget how to coach. I believe Richt's problem is like when a golfer tries to improve his performance by tweaking an already good swing. Sometimes these tweaks backfire and it takes the golfer a little while to get back to his old swing. Watch Richt retool his swing next season. Georgia is so lucky to have a man of his character leading our dawgs.

My only wish is next seasons when UGA is winning again all these blowhard anti-Mark Richt writers will be forced to cheer for Tech & aren't allowed inside Sandord Stadium or to even watch a UGA game on tv. My question is why all these writers who have never coached a football team of any sorts whatsoever in their entire lifetime all of a sudden think they know all about coaching football because UGA has a couple of mediocre seasons. I always laugh at people who have never done something but think of themselves as experts because they have watched it on tv. If you are a UGA fan then be a UGA fan and quit the crybaby, whining crap about the coach. He is here, he is the coach so quit talking about him when you know that if he walked in your office today, you would be hugging his neck asking for an autograph. Support your school or find another school to support.

sic.... it's just football and i am a big fan but to use the cancer analogy is low. Hope you never have to deal with the tragedy many have. Football is not war...... losing is not cancer. Football is a game.

its not about him being a good person or not. sec football is a multi-million dollar business, and our coach is not getting the job done. he has lost complete control of his players, we must recruit the dumbest kids in the country. stafford was a #1 pick, aj will be too, what did any of those teams accomplish? a sugar bowl win versus hawaii, and dont tell me we should have played for the natl title that year, we didnt even win the sec. we need a change, someone who doesnt settle for field goals. WE LOST TO CENTRAL FLORIDA AND GEORGE O'LEARY, VERY UNACCEPTABLE.

Would you really rather be Auburn today? I know alot of Auburn fans that are embarrassed at their coach and his win at all cost mentality. At least Richt knows better. I too hope he can change the thug mentality and lack of hustle and fire that has infected the Dawg team. I don't know if he can or not to be honest. But I am glad he recognizes it and and will try while all the "experts" crawling out from every Gold, Blue, and Orange rocks would rather replace him with someone like Chizek, Saban or Meyer! I'm glad he witnesses to his players and is an excellent role model rather than turn his back and not even punish a player for kicking another or trying to poke the eyes out of another player. I'm glad we have Mark Richt and as I said before, he didn't just forget how to coach. I'd rather he be more aggressive but is conservative style put him and the dawgs amoung the nations best just a few short years ago. Give the man and his approach a chance to turn things around. If he can't, then he needs to move on, but stop putting the man down because of his Christian character

UGA played this year with a redshirt freshmen qb (and last year Cox was a first time starter) and a brand new defensive scheme. UGA played the first 4 games without it's best athlete on offense and played as many games without one of their two star running backs. Even with all those factors, UGA wasn't getting blown out and was very close to winning several of those games they ended up losing. The best satisfaction will be seeing all these fire Richt characters sucking hind-tit next year just like the Auburn idiots who wanted to fire Chizik last year after a 3-5 SEC record. Mark Richt hasn't lost the support of his true fan base, Mark Richt has loss the support of UGA fans who have unrealistic and delusional expectations.

This article made me sick.Coach Richt is the dean of SEC coaches and deserves our full support. So what he's had some poor seasons ans the off field incidents must be addressed ASAP but to rail on CMR like that is baseless and has no facts in it. Good luck findin a better coach out there geiger and when richt gets the program back on track I hope u feel like a moron. Go root for florida and let the true and realistic fans of UGA root for the team we adore.

i would agree that he is good for the georgia program and probably a good recruiter....why not make him a.d. with also recruiting job.....and then get us a good game coach....cause i can tell you that with the talent that ga. gets, and the teams that we play, that most high school coaches in metro atlanta could win 8 games a year.....and dont tell me how tough the sec is, 5-5 sec bowl record....only one east side sec bowl victory.......

Coach Richt, is a good recruiter. We can all see that he is not a guy that preaches discipline. They are running the same plays that they ran with David Greene at QB and Veron Haynes at FB. I don't see why everyone is on his jock when other SEC schools are winning national championships. I mean if you want to be real about it UGA has not been relevant since 1980. Even GATech has one since then. Sooooo... there..And as far as getting it back on track.. it is on the same track it has been on for 20 years. Hype and Hope from diehard fans.. nothing else.

Mark Richt in 10 years as head coach has 96 wins. If you don't know how to coach, you don't have 96 wins in the SEC. You are just a fair weathered UGA fan. There is no coach out there Ga can hire with a record equal to Richt's.

Absolutely stop the bashing about him being a Christian and he's soft. And the talk of his wife's cancer...shame on you! He's our coach next year and I for one will be hoping AND PRAYING things turn around for the Dawgs.
