That is embarrassing, and I wouldn't want that broadcasted to everyone in the world.. it really aint no one's business. Could have said self inflicted or suicide or something of that sort. If that were my family. I would file a lawsuit.. I mean Im just saying.
20/20 did a story on this a while back about how it had been being done by grade school students. pretty much they are just cutting off the blood flow to the brain and when they let go the lood rushes back so fast that they pass out. this gets the same results as being chocked to death. unfortunatly for this woman her last breath was taken getting a cheap high. and file a lawsuit for what. for notifying the public of something that is obviously an issue. if it killed this woman im sure a 4 year old could do it to. what people need to take from this is to notify their kids of the risk of doing such things.
She died from natural causes. That means she DIDNT choke herself. Just because "someone" obviously told Walter something different, doesn't make it true. It does make the telling of this story more entertaining though. I remember Walter posting this story before they had even left the hotel room with the body. Made me sick then and makes me sick now. Why publish that? You should feel like an idiot Walter. So should your informant. I feel really bad for this ladies family, who had to read all of this crap.
Im guessing that there was no choking or strangulation involved. Probably no damage to her lungs from lack of air. SOoooo there was no reason for her death other than NATURAL CAUSES. Were there marks on her neck??? Doubtful. If there was anything to link this death to autoasphyxiation, the the autopsy report would have said that. You do know they can tell stuff like that dont you? Someone just jumped the gun because she had sexual paraphnalia in her hotel room.
I agree! Some things should not be put in print for everyone to read. Especially when it is speculation. Frankly, I agree with the other post. Natural causes does not = asphyxiation.
Thank goodness there have been no men from here who have died of a heart attack while making love....Walter would let us know what position they were in, what medication they were on, and if the act was completed before death.
Shame on you Walter for the embarassment this surley caused this womans family. Do you believe in ghost...
Ok. Based on the report, I looked up what this means. Simply put, she died from a ruptured blook vessel in the brain. A subarachnoid hemorrhage due to ruptured saccular aneurysm. Ok...a saccular aneurysm is a berry shaped place in a vessel. Think water balloon. Hemorrhage = bleeding, or it burst. Subarachnoidal - this is the space between the brain and the thin layer of tissue that surrounds and covers it.
I also learned that this is more common in women, african-americans, smokers, and people over 50. I know she was a woman, I thought I heard african-american, and I don't know about the other stuff. It also went on to say that this is commonly no traumatic, in other words, it can just happen. I can't say what did or didn't happen in that room, I just wanted to point out that it didn't have to be something funky.
She could have been watching TV or something and the vessel just burst and killed her. I found information on webmd and emedicine amongst other non-wiki sites.
What's really embarassing is that many of the posts above DO NOT reflect the coroner's findings. Why are people always looking for only the bad things and so quick to jump to conclusions that are hurtful and wrong? I can understand the editor of this newspaper initialy jumping at the thought of selling a few more hits on this site and a few more papers, but what makes people almost wish for bad things to comment about?
Why would this paper want to do any research? It would only make them appear to be informed and educated. It is better to run a story based on hearsay than facts. Small town paper equals rumor mill.
for the record, i absolutely stand by the facts in our original coverage of this event and no one has come to see me face to face or called to dispute them.
Hey, relax. I wasn't say that she wasn't. Just that she didn't die from the choking. I wasn't on the scene, were you. From what I heard from officers that were, she was involved in something. So hey, "Evidence at the scene indicated Olson may have been indulging in autoerotic asphyxiation prior to her death." doesn't say she was or wasn't right? Just there was evidence she was. I was just trying to clarify the coroner's findings, not contradict what she may or may not have done prior or during her hemorrage. You and Walter both have no reason to be so jumpy. But then again, Walter does take quit a beating from some on here. Again, that wasn't my intention, sorry if there was some misunderstanding.
"There are unconfirmed reports of a video camera and open computer internet connection in the room that could indicate her sex act was being watched online or being taped for later online distribution at the time of her death."
Was it filmed or was she online? If online then someone wittnessed what happened. Do you think the police found them and interviewed them? If it was taped, that means her death was on tape....either way they probably got the answer. Have any of your sources told you the answer? Im guessing that evidence might clear things up.
walter, walter walter...you never do get the point do you? The fact is she died of natural causes...no matter what she was wearing or doing at the time...and the FACT is you should be printing a retraction of the original article with all its speculation (and that is EXACTLY what it was- speculation based on what little information you were given at the time). Did you even actually see the scene yourself? To state the facts is fine...but expanding on them with conjecture and hearsay is another. I would also say as to your comment above--you are pretty lucky you havent heard from anyone in the family...YET. Here's hoping you will soon though.

bottom line: our coverage was dead on accurate.
