Paige Nicole Brown, 30, entered not guilty pleas and had her case assigned to a public defender in Lamar superior court Feb. 22.

What would you expect her to plead? Anyone who takes other's lives into their careless hands and drives under the innfluence is also going to be as sickenly careless as to make a grieving family suffer through a lenghly trial before being rightfully sentenced. I have no pity for this piece of *****.

It looks like she just woke up and the nightmare she was having took over her body. God people don't care how they look anymore. Pajamas in public pants on the ground with their nasty boxer shorts hanging out. Get a clue NO ONE wants to see your crack. You deserve to have gout arthritis in your hips and legs from having to walk that way just to keep your pants from falling off.

That's cause of Waller's regime to make him some money before he is elected out again lol. Buice was great and not a idiot like Waller and people respected him more. He use to have a group of stupid deputies called the Regulators in the 90's but all of them except 1 were all arrested and put in prison for either drugs, abuse, or shooting themselves in the hand lol.

but beyond that... i know that if you kill someone in the process of committing a felony thats felony murder and in ga you get life (or at least that was the law). what are 2 counts of DUI? is she looking at time.. or will she just get a slap on the wrist?

If your are legal you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

I don't drink and drive and I don't have any illegal drugs so, check points don't bother me a bit!!!

Maybe they should step it up a notch!!

you speek the truth 3.1.but the sad thing is the people of lamar county are to scared to stand on their on two feet and must have the good ol boys to guide them and tell them how to live their lives.waller wont run again but he has been grooming his good ol boy replacement mr white.the scared little people of this county will keep electing them and letting the rest of the world pass this little back water county by.

Remarkable how our brought back sheriff can prosecute someone for shooting a dog, but let someone shoot at pizza delivery guy and they walk. Is is 1962 again?

I wouldn't want to be in this young lady's shoes right now. She will probably be convicted. And I'm sure she knows it.
I'm still relatively sure that the trucker took defensive maneuvers in order not to hit this young lady and it ended up taking his life.
I wonder how she can live with herself?

No one shot at a pizza delivery guy. Someone shot at the ground behind a fleeing vehicle who parked in the woods beside his Mother's house instead of the nice paved drive out front.

The FORMER sheriff was the idiot. As you can see, people took a stand and got him the hell out of office. No one in Lamar County or any surrounding counties had/has any respect for the man. Wallers job is to protect the citizens of Lamar County, not worry about he upsets because of license checks or working 75. At least he is bringing money to the county, not wasting it on unnecessary equipment like bucket trucks. By the way, the city has been doing checks to and if you have a problem with it then you are obviously doing something wrong.
Grow up and get a life....better yet, try working with your hero for a while.

Agreed. I never mentioned her weight in my comment. As usually excessive weight is caused by depression as easily as several other issues in one's life. And we are not going to try to put the woman in therapy here. But the fact that her charges are revolving around intentional disregard to other's lives by getting behind the wheel while under the influence .... well, she deserves a whole hell of a lot more than someone picking on her weight. That perso next who lost his life doesn't get to choose a damn thing again and I'm sure that his family deserves to not be drug through additional months of knowing that the person responsible is not being brought to justice yet. Just something for you to chew on.

Well we see who lost the election....If he runs again, he will probably loose again. Like I said...talk to people who had to deal with him. As far a Waller and this fit you have been talking about for years, why dont you get over it. You post it on every blog. Not true...."HE" didn't have a set of Deputies called the "regulators". He had Deputies that called themselves the regulators....and when they were caught breaking the law they swore to uphold, they were arrested and jailed like anyone else. Mr. Waller in NO WAY endorsed or authorized the title of "regulators" for his deputies and scolded them harshly when he discovered it.

Yes, she made a huge mistake. One she can't undo. And yes, God will forgive her if she asks. That doesn't mean she shouldn't face punishment for what she did. God will erase sins in heaven, but not their consequences here on earth.

I wish those who post to these comments would think twice about what they say and who may read this. This young woman has to live the rest of her life knowing her action has taken the life of another. Since this was a DUI related incident she also has to deal with her addictions the rest of her life. Alcoholism is an incurable disease like cancer. It can lead to takeing a life whether it's the addicts or the life of another as in her case. His family has lost a father, son, and a husband. Her family has a loss as well. This is a no win situation. Yes she gets to live but at what cost? She has addictions to overcome and guilt of what has happended to be with her the rest of her life. It is only by the grace of god that she is still alive. My hope in this situation is that she overcomes her addictions and that her actions may make her a person that can help others and not hurt anyone else.
