Your thoughts on the Jamie Hood fiasco?
Alleged cop killer, career criminal and petty gangster Jamie Hood was finally taken into custody Friday night after making a mockery of law enforcement.
i was disgusted to hear his family & friends talking about how he didn't want to die. i feel pretty sure that he didn't take that same into consideration when he shot & killed officer christian & wounded officer howard.
i'm pretty sure someone will blast me for this, so... bring it!
We will know shortly if the people surrounding Hood were friends or hostages. He will either be charged with additional multiple charges of kidnapping or they will be charged with assisting a murderer.
Did you hear that his handcuffs were too tight? They were hurting his hands? Isn't that sad?
The worthless jerk. People who kill or harm cops should be put so far back in jail that they never see daylight except for their trial date when they receive their death penalty.
I can see it now in his public paid for defense strategy, "Little Jamie" was a young Black man "wrongfully convicted" and spent 12 years in prison being abused by the guards. It was necessary for him to "pump up" so he could defend himself. He wasn't offered a GED or college courses. He received no mental health service. He can contend he was led astray by his many siblings. From the TV interviews given by family members, it appears Hood must have a dozen brothers and sisters pulling for him. Also, it sickened me to watch those officers dusting off Hood's chest and back. We can't have any dirt on our star MURDERER. Can we? The cops should have dusted him off alright...PERMANENTLY! Now, I feel better!

That age disparity is no "assumption" since my oldest son is a 58 year old college professor toiling in the footsteps of this proud old Dad. Many people in your Facebook and Twitter circle of friends may be impressed with your badge of educational exclamation. I commend you for your efforts. However, if your proffered commentary is an example of your woefully lacking compositional skills, you should back up a bit and seek advanced tutoring. Maybe you should consider changing in your monniker. How about using, Semi-Literate American Woman With African Origin. That fits your writing style much better. One can be proud of their ancestry while being an American FIRST. I would NEVER write as 'Very Highly Educated White European American Old Man Geezer'. I am simply an American man with a couple of Doctoral Degrees who happens to offer comments in MANY newspapers in the United States. At times, I use pseudonyms and initial them as CNA, meaning Call N. Alcars. If one of my former university students had presented a paper to me for grading exactly like your posting, I would have red penciled the many errors and given a failing grade.

As far as knowing what Jamie Hood did in his lifetime, that will take only a couple of paragraphs. He was a teenage "pants on the ground" thug public school drop out who was sentenced to 12 years in prison at age 21 years. Hood got of prison in 2009 and was a street thugging thief until this recent incident. When this "alleged murderer" is convicted, he should be shot down like the dirty dog he is. AN EYE FOR AN EYE! Nuff' said.

Being a cop mostly consists of driving around bullying people with a gun, a badge, and a false sense of superiority based on naive moral reasoning and a skewed perspective.
People like Hood who live horrible lives and lose loved ones to despair and desperation, but literally to a cop's bullet are bound to feel the need to share their misery with others - especially those partially responsible for it. He gave up his freedom to make that point.
America has 1/3rd of the world's prison population, but only 5% of it's total population. We are obviously doing something wrong. And while you and the majority of the police force are living the American dream, people like Jaime Hood are living in something akin to the Wild West or a third world country where life his cheap - both that of his brother's and that of the ACC officer.

I agree with you on that statement. The reason for such a high prison population is recidivism. Let's look at our prison system here in Ga. We call it the Department of Corrections. (meaning we are trying to "correct" bad behavior) But what do we do if the criminal gets out and does the same crime? We lock him up and try to correct his actions again. Sooner or later we need to realize that some criminals cannot be "corrected."
Let's compare China's recidivism rate (6 to 8%) to Georgia's rate (39%). That is saying 39% of Georgia's prison population will return to jail. That's roughly 18,000 criminals that DO NOT want to conform to society's rules. That is 18,000 criminals with NO RESPECT for anyone but themselves. (and some don't even have that)
I think maybe we should look at other ways to lower recidivism. Maybe China is doing something we could learn from, since ours isn't working.
We have two egregious examples in Georgia. The elderly woman that was killed by police in Atlanta and the pastor that was murdered by police in Toccoa. Where is the wall to wall media coverage of for those people? Why weren't the funerals of those people given live coverage?
For that matter, our local sheriff jailed an innocent man for seven months for a shooting he didn't commit and was then reelected? It took an agency outside of the county to prove the man's innocence. Where was the media coverage and citizen outrage about that?
I can't understand why the police are placed on some sort of pedestal and admired, when even a light examination of what actually is taking place would change a lot of minds.
The next time you or your family needs help, don't call the law call a HOOD.

I watched the "surrender" with anticipation that a Jack Ruby moment would happen on live tv just like it did in November 1963 when Ol' Jack blasted Lee Harvey Oswald coming out of the Dallas jail holding area.
Jamie Hood and the Progressive Democrap Socialist enablers will milk this event for all it is worth resulting in a plea deal of life in prison. Will Attorney General Eric Holder and his non-Justice Department incompetents intervene on Hood's behalf because he is a Black thug accused of murdering a White policeman? Hood's civil rights had to have been violated because his hand cuffs were cinched "too tight" and he whined like a pansy biotch instead of a tough gangster. Also, Hood was forced to the ground and handcuffed at gun point resulting in his prison primed muscles getting a small amount of dirt on them.
Which by the way, a couple of eager officers playing to the tv audience, were quick to brush the dirt off Hood's pumped pecs with their bare hands to show they were providing humane, non-aggressive police assistance with due respect for the accused. If poor Jamie Hood had been forced down onto a fire ant bed, he would probably file suit for police brutality. In prison, his "bunkies" won't be so accommodating during their midnight trysts. I hope Hood's rapist cell mate is big buffed broke-nosed bruiser Brutus and not swishy child molester sweet Brucie Joe. Hood will long for the good old days as a "hostage taker".
The FBI Hostage Response Team who conducted the "surrender" of Hood in order to ensure the poor misunderstood "citizen" wasn't harmed by the GBI and Clarke County police is under the control of....Eric Holder and the DOJ! It is my understanding that the FBI doesn't take a lead role in a local investigation or "thug and friends rescue" unless invited to participate by state and local authorities. I could be in error, but, I don't recall reading or hearing on tv that the FBI took charge of the manhunt from the GBI. Georgia didn't need this "celebrity" take down on live tv as ordered by the fleeing felon as a condition of his surrender. He was trapped like a Hood-Rat and could have been shot if he refused to surrender. Jamie Hood would not have harmed his "hostages"! They were all long time "homies" and friends who most likely provided him a place to hide and partied with him during their long "hostage ordeal".
Don't forget, as reported by authorities after the "rescue", the new tv star and resident thug hero Jamie Hood was high on cocaine. The "hostages" could have jumped Hood while he was busy snorting coke or taking a pull on the party bottle of MD 20/20. Don't you think?
Interviews with some of the "hostages" revealed they were not afraid of Jamie Hood because they were all friends and he "would not harm them". From the looks of the "hostages" they had a big going away party for their "boy" and appeared to be strung out themselves after the big party. Snorting cocaine and 'gettin down' is hard work and very tiring after a couple of days and nights. Is a reality tv show on A&E starring that cast of zany misfit characters next? How about 'Hood In The Hood? or 'Held Hostage By Big Time Hood'?
Come on Jamie Hood sympathizers. Tell us how badly the cops mistreat the likes of Hood and his dysfunctional family. You need to get out more. Moreland is nothing compared to the Maddox Park area or Hollywood Blvd off of Bankhead Hwy in Atlanta. Gunfire can be heard there at all hours.

I don't have a powerful updated late model computer system complete with spell check coupled with all the fancy programs running on a gigazillion bytes of memory. I also don't have one of those clear as a crystal wide screen HD monitors to aid me in my occasional past times such as letter writing and blogging.
It is hard for me to spend money on a new computer system when my old DX/2-50 computer running Windows version 3.1 is sufficient. I have not progressed beyond the 1990 stage of computer literacy and I have faithfully stuck with AOL ever since. Using a dial up connection, the 64 MB Ram works fine in my small computer with its large 100MB hard drive to handle my few tasks. My monitor is a 12 inch green screen relic that fades in and out at times. I correct that minor issue with a sharp knuckle rap on the side of the screen case. It flickers and waves back at me for a while, but, it's functional and I don't have to waste any of my Social Security pension on an unneeded expense. The obama economy is bad for Seniors.
Some of my spelling errors can be attributed to a war injury to my left eye when I was fighting the Commies in Korea in 1952. I wouldn't say my eyes are comparative to Jack Elam or Marty Feldman, but, looking in a clean mirror, I run a close third. Sometimes when I lift up the eye patch, I can focus a bit better.
Oh yeah! I almost forgot. Most times I use the index finger of my right hand typing on my ancient keyboard because of an injury to my hand that happened when I was trapped between feuding factions of a rioutous 'Stop The Draft' demonstration in Oakland, CA in 1967. All the letters and numbers have worn off the keyboard adding to my problems since I am not a memory touch typist. The "H" and "P" keys stick too.
Latest happenings:
I borrowed Sheila Tolley's famous talking parrot named Moses to help me when I type. Moses will sit atop my right shoulder and observe all keyboard action as I create a comment. It seems to be working out but Moses has to do something about that seedy breath and lower his voice a couple of screechy octaves.
It is working! I am whole again with a living and breathing feathered spell checker.

According to Capt. Clarence Holeman of the Athens-Clarke Police, the pumped punk Jamie Hood is being investigated as a suspect in the murder of Kenneth Omari Wray, age 30. Wray was an Athens-Clarke County Transportation and Public Works Department employee who was gunned down and murdered on December 28, 2010. Hood's carjacking victim is reportedly an associate of murder victim Wray. Hmmm!

Okay, former President Bush and President Obama are both Harvard graduates. I’m not positive but I believe that Clarence Thomas is as well. Naturally the Kennedys were. The bottom line is that there are politicians and other political figures on both sides of the isle and with liberal or conservative leanings who have graduated from Harvard. This is a matter of both history and current events. I don’t see how dialogue on this topic could lead anywhere productive. If I’ve missed an important point here please explain it to me.
You are correct that I’m a liberal feminist. But, addressing hate speech based on race or anything else is a bipartisan issue and one that many individuals around my age are quite passionate about. Since you brought up Harvard scandals I’ll inform you of an even better one. It got slightly less publicity because a president wasn’t involved but it was much worse.
A Harvard student killed a local guy around his own age in Union Square, Somerville MA. That’s about .5 mi from Harvard square. It wasn’t self defense, he was the aggressor. There were lot’s of witnesses.
Normally I wouldn’t do this but I’ll specify that the murder was white. He was convicted and went to jail. This happened around five years ago, give or take. I was living in Cambridge then.
I did attend Harvard but it was the night school and not the day school. It’s taught by the same professors who teach at the day school. But, it’s immaterial for these purposes.
I did take a confrontational tone and I apologize for that. I should have been more diplomatic. My comment about the undereducated and predominantly white area was completely unnecessary. I apologize.
