A 19-year-old Barnesville man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the killing of a Family Dollar assistant manager during a robbery in Macon.

UPDATE:Two more suspects, including a Barnesville woman, have now been arrested and charged with murder.

This has nothing to do with race or the president. Each individual is respondsible for his or her own actions. White people murder and commit crimes just as well but it is swept under the rug and ignored either very quickly or not publicized at all (ex.the young man who killed his child a few months ago)! When a life is taken by anyone that is not a time to point fingers or play the blame game a family somewhere is mourning, no correction several families are mourning because not only has a life been taken off this earth but these people took a life therefore their family has to deal with losing them to the system. It is so easy for small town small minded people to have small minded opinions, but keep in mind it is easy to point the finger and judge when the shoes arent on you feet, but oh how easily could that change. As fas as Obama is concenred the way I see it is if we could tolerate 8 years of Bush..we can tolereate 8 years of anybody! I am so sick of people pulling the race card whenever a crime is committed. It is funny that these people would have the nerve to do such things, because I bet somewhere in their life they have a black person being loyal to them, more so than their fellow friends. This is a crime, a harsh crime that could have been committed by whites as well, and somewhere is being committed as I sit and type this. I pray for all the families that are being hurt by this tragedy. It is shame that after all these years racism still plagues this world. How sad. A simple examination of the FBI crime statistics website reveals an uncomfortable FACT.

70% of the violent crime committed in the United States is done by African Americans.

Examination of the racial breakdown of ANY state's prison population reveals the vast majority of inmates are African American.

Even a simple minded man can reach the conclusion that these people are the source of the vast majority of the crime problem in the United States.

not true. i work in the macon area and read its newspaper everyday. there are about the same number of whites as there are blacks in the paper doing these same crimes. It's a shame to still see that so many of us always put race on crimes. that's like me saying only whites are rapist, serial killers, and frauds. it's not nice to see that we have came so far to only still live in the past. i see that those before us did what they could for us to get along and no one really does. there is a lot of racism still and I never really knew that til i moved to Barnesville. There are no consequences in the schools. Maybe a day of ISS here and there but the majority of what happens is that parents make excuses for their kid's behavior or want to blame the teachers. I wonder if this blog required that you log in with your true name and address.....how many of these comments would be posted. It's so easy to hide behind "Anonymous" or "Sheila Tolley" and make stupid, racist, hateful remarks.

Oh and I'm doing pretty well for myself, unlike you most likely. Why are you angry that I have a car, come from a good family, and currently in college? I have plenty of black friends along with white, mexican, etc. You seem to be the one being racist by saying that the only reason whites hang around blacks is to buy herb.

The vast majority of inmates are African American due to the vicious cycle of racism in this country....African Americans ancestor were brought here by force, enslaved, and did really gain any type of freedom until the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1965...a mere 46 years ago..So many Caucasians have had the opportunity and advantage to excel and succeed, while African Americans had to fight for equal rights..That is why so many of them are ANGRY that this led nation is being led by an African American man...Did you not think that one day, the tables were going to turn...God is more powerful than any of us, and you better believe, a change is going to overcome...When we had the opportunity to kill as many Caucasians possible, we turned the other cheek...African Americans still continued to love those who tormented them...Caucasians better be glad that we don't possess the same hatred that some of them do..You think Baghdad and Afghanistan is burning, try to turn back the hands of time, and see what the end result is going to be...And, it will be TELEVISED!!!!
