An elite team from Navy Seal Team 6 flew to Pakistan and assaulted a luxury hideout located less than 100 yards from a Pakistani military academy. The location of the hideout has implicated the Pakistani government, supposedly a U.S. ally, in protecting bin Laden.
The Seal team lost one chopper but suffered no casualties.
In New York, celebrations broke out at Ground Zero, the site where bin Laden's terrorists brought down the World Trade Center and killed 3000 civilians. New Yorkers danced in the streets and waved American flags.
At the same time, U.S. embassies and bases around the world were put on heightened security alert in expectation of reprisals.
U.S. military personnel took custody of bin Laden's body, positively identified the remains and buried him at sea.

Do you realize that gas prices are an average of $2.14 per gallon more today than on the day President Bush left office? Yet Mr. Obama insists on not drilling at home and using our own resources. Why?

He wants the rich to pay higher taxes? Fine. But then they say well if he does that to us we will stop spending our money to support the lower classes. Make no mistake, I, for one, am glad we got bin Laden (if we, in fact, did). I don't care who got him. But for you to say Bush did not try is ludacris. Who do you think paved the way for us to get him? George W. If President Bush had sat on his hands after the 9-11 attacks, the war we are in in the Middle East would be being fought right here at home.
Obama just happened to be in the right place at the right time when our intelligence found him and our military filled him full of lead. To listen to Obama's speech Sunday evening, you would think that he, himself, had found the guy and pulled the trigger.
Did you happen to notice that the news broke conveniently in time to break in on Trump's TV show. For the record, I'm no fan of the Donald, but this was politically motivated. Everything Obama does from this day forward will be politically motivated in hopes of enhancing his chances of be re-elected.
If that weren't at the forefront of his motivation he never would have "given the order" to carry out this mission because, as we all know, his party does not condone the "eye for an eye" way of doing things.
While it was ok for the people to get out and show their jubilation for the death of this leader of terrorism, we, as a nation, must not get complacent as the war on terror is still far from over. Matter of fact, this event may just elevate it.
So sleep with one eye open and always look over your shoulder. There will be retaliation from Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Bin Laden was killed because he got comfortable in his little Pakistani mansion and let his guard down and the woman he hid behind was not shield enough to save him.

I believe Obamas delivery of the news was tasteful, not as extravagant as Bush's "mission accomplished" performance, but still it was a great moment. I dont feel Obama was attempting to upstage out military by delivering the news himself.
Lets not let personal bias get in the way of giving credit where ALL the credit is due, despite how bitter the pill is to swallow. We may have to re-examine some previous conclusions. All part of personal growth.

We better get used to high fuel prices too. It isn't just the Arabs driving fuel prices up, it is our oil futures market. A good percentage of oil is purchased before it even leaves the ground, and the more people buy into future oil the higher prices will go.
Cheap and easy oil is pretty much going away. The increased cost to recover oil along with the system of buying future oil is going to keep prices going up.
We better get used to it. No matter who we elect, oil will go up and jobs and money will go off shore. We wanted a global economy, and it is inevitable that our wealth accumulated in the 1800's through mid 1900's will exit. There is no other way it can go, because we are a consumer nation. We take energy and goods in from outside our borders, and the only thing we have to ship out now is money.

The NAACP is a racist organization in my opinion. The “CP” in NAACP stands for colored people. Referencing the term “colored” refers to pigmentation of skin. Open your eyes. Slavery is not so much about race as it is about labor, money and power, and it still exists today for millions of people worldwide. Read about white slavery in the Americas, particularly about the Irish who were unwillingly sent to the colonies and Caribbean during Cromwell's persecution of the Catholics.The word "kidnap" originated from the "kidnab" in regards to the widespread practice of stealing English children to be shipped to the colonial plantations as slaves. The word "slave" has its roots in the enslavement of white Slavic peoples. Don't take my word for it; do the research and educate yourself if you have the desire and the courage to step out of the big self-pity box you've ensconced yourself in.
I don't bring any of this up to minimize what black slaves in this country endured, but it's disingenuous to believe that slavery was exclusive to blacks. Slavery is wrong.
