Sohel Batliwala, owner of the Hot Shot store destroyed by last week's killer tornado, says he will rebuild on the site.

New Walmart near Hwy 341 south. Big Lost near former Ingles.

A restaurant? Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba's Italian Grill near Hwy 341. Zaxby's and Arby's near Rose Ave. Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell in 2014.

I don't agree with all of these businesses popping up. I miss this being a really small town.. Away from it all, Away from big city life. Soon Barnesville's gonna end up as big as griffin. They are building over my childhood memories. :(

How about whatever he builds, leave out the illegal gambling machines, put paper in the printers on the pumps, and clean the fricking parking lot once in a while!! Or better yet, just bulldoze the site, plant trees to make up for the ones destroyed by the storm.

Hot Spot sold out a few years ago...It has been the Hot Shot ever since...so you get it right!!!

Actually the name is Hot Shot. Hot Spot was the name of the chain of gas stations, and when he changed it to Chevron or whatever, the name of the business actually became Hot Shot.

the name of the business is "Hot Shot", it was formally "Hot Spot" and when the new owners took over they had to change the name.

it changed to "Hot Shot" a while back.

Is it Shot or Spot? I have seen it both ways lately.

That is a great spot for a restaurant. A Long Horns or Applebees. Something besides fried chicken, bar-be-q, or burgers & fries. I hate driving 45 minutes to get to Chili's or the aforementioned places.

But we have to make an effort to support what they put there, whatever it is.

I believe and I might be wrong, but a few years back when they remodeled the place the name was changed from HOT SPOT to HOT SHOT. My reasoning, when I saw the new name HOT SHOT, I thought "that sounds like a bar not a gas station." If I'm correct then the "reporters" are doing their job correctly, as usual.

Don't yall remember the taco bell that was in back of the gas station across from Roses? It was a drive thru at the back of the building. I think it didn't last even a month.

That's because the employees couldn't get a person's order right, ever. It just got frustrating and we gave up on going there.
I still think a Taco Bell would be wonderful.

We need something other than chicken and hamburgers. I agree with taco bell or Arbys. If its a resturant and not fast food, then a Chili's sounds good. We need something else to eat for lunch around here and somewhere else to dine in other than El Durango's.

Anybody saying that they should put an applebees, carrabas, or anything of the sort has no business sense what so ever. Its barnesville, not macon, not atlanta. Get with the program people!
