Shocker...this dude says this about every event: Buggy Days, BBQ and Blues, etc.... If you are so much of a malcontent about these type of activities maybe should move to a place that doesn't have any civic pride or community involvement that may involve some fun. Also, I believe all proceeds raised by Kiwanis go to youth programs and scholarships all over the county. Way to rain on that benevolent parade. Loser...
why does every event have to include alcohol. its great to raise money for worthy causes but how about setting a good example for the kids while doing so. you are the loser if you have to include alcohol to have a good time.
Dear Anonymous #3.1, I personally don't drink alcohol but prohibition ended many years ago. I think the real question is; why do you feel it is your place to judge others? I have a great time at this event without consuming any alcohol and invite you to join me Friday night for a great cause. Don’t worry when you get there, I will help you down off of your high horse!
not judging anyone. what an individual does is his/her buisness. my problem is when an organization, or the city/chamber etc. sponsers an event and also includes alcohol. its not setting a very good example, not to mention the legal problems that could result. a young person was killed in an auto crash in the 1990s after leaving a city and chamber sponsered event at the civic center. im all for civic pride and helping kids out but lets not confuse supporting a good cause with putting a stumbling block before our brother. these clubs/ buisnesses / or other organizations certainly have the right to do what they want but just be prepared for for the fallout. i know not everyone believes as i do, but there are many people that do believe alcohol should not be included in these events. big dan , i can get off my own horse but thank you for offerring your help. to all those i have offended with espressing my opinion i say TOO BAD! i have seen the destruction that alcohol has caused to many in our community and it is just not worth it to encourage or provide easy access of it to others. it could of easily destroyed my own life if not for the GRACE OF GOD. thank you and HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Instead of hiding in the shadows of this blog and pouring out whatever resentment and bitterness you have towards others in this community, why don't you do as we are called to do as christians. You should attend events such as this and be a living of example of Christ. By showing up and having a good time WITHOUT turing up a cold one, you could very easily be one of the only examples of a christian some people may see that night and they might just say, "hey! what does that guy have that I don't? Where does his joy come from? Whatever it is, I'll have what he's having!" You MUST live in this world but you don't have to conform to it. We are to be lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. How are you being a light by being bitter and disgruntled? Live with joy and let others see that joy in you! Attend these events with a smile on your face and ready at any moment to tell someone why it's there. That is the true call of a christian....
didnt know i was bitter or disgruntled. just because im not joining "the kiss rear end club "does not mean im disgruntled. im also not hiding , i express my opinion in public all the time. i guess im just too "radioactive" as ive been called.again , i will state my problems are not with individuals attending these events or what they do there, my problem lies with any organization sponserring and promoting alcohol at these events.
