Are you accusing test examiners of helping the students or erasing answers? Please be specific. Neither teachers nor administrators score the GHSGT. Are you accusing the state-level officials changing scores? Again, be specific on how you think they are "fudged" so someone can respond to your concerns.
Might not have much to do with hope, but....lol
With the no child left behind act, and the sad state of public education, school systems that are not making the grade have their budgets cut at the state funding level. If there are too many flunkies, than the school doesn't get paid or worse, look at clayton county school system, look at the city of atlanta school system, they are about to loose or have lost accreditation(er how ever thats spelled). So I would have to agree with the first comment, there is def. motivation to correct the scores long before they are handed to the state for checking.
Why don't we just go back to teaching the basics? Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. As the kids get older, let them decide what future path they want to take and give them courses to suit that path. The government needs to understand that not all kids want to go to college.
I have my child's CRCT results... 6th grade..Science Domains: Geology,Hydrology and Meteorology, Astronomy. (my son met all standards) But why teach this at such a young age? So then at maybe the 8th grade, give career tests. ( they are pretty accurate )
Along with career counseling, then give them an academic path to fit their needs.
