Walter Geiger, publisher of The Herald Gazette and barnesville.com, is in acute renal failure and has been a patient at Macon Medical Center since June 17. Currently undergoing dialysis, his nephrologist is optimistic he will regain kidney function.

Laura,
my heart goes out to you Walter and your children. I'm sure Walter has mentioned my family to you and we are forever grateful for all he has done for the clark/ Maddox family. I pray that the LORD ABOVE KEEPS HIS HANDS ON walter and the rest of you and he makes a fast and complete recovery. We have said for a long time now that Walter is our extended family so that includes you and the girls if there is anything you need or that I can do to help no matter how small or big please do not hesitate to call on us. Laura you are a wonderful lady I know this because Walter has said so and not only that but you share him when other people need him so thank you and the girls for the 28 months he was needed by our family to help bring justice for my brother stay strong and Walter will be home soon.
