My property has not been assessed since I moved there over 6 years ago until now. And the value then is only a couple hundred dollars less than what it is now. But when I bought my house it appraised for almost $30,000 more than the fair market value according to the county...
In the same boat, lived here 5yrs, mortgage companies say our value has dropped 30k, tax assessment says our house is work 2k MORE than what we even paid BEFORE the market crashed. What the heck?
Our property is assessed way more than we could sell the house for. We bought the house on a fourcloser and paid 60,000 less for what the appraisal was, in this economy we couldn't sell it for what we paid for it. So why are we being assessed for 176,000. Milk ain't clean somewhere. City employee's have damn near put themselves out of a job" by hiring slots that don't need feeling.
