Absolutely ridiculous. This "manmade global warming" theory is just another way for liberals to create more government, and more regulation, and tax us more, as is the case with this nonsense here.
What is their plan for volcanos? One single volcano produces more carbon than all of mankind combined.

You are right. We should send Al Gore to every volcano. Maybe we will get lucky and one will erupt while he is nearby...

Yes, trees are good, but the bottom line is they want to use scare tactics, emotion and assumptions to tax us some more.

I don't think anyone is too dumb in this case. Both parties are correct which is why policy has not been enacted on this issue yet.

Trees are good for the environment. They do combat the ridiculous amounts of carbon our lifestyle creates. However, if tree farms are compensated by the gov't we are all smart enough to know that sort of compensation doesn't come without an underlying tax to keep the program afloat.

The point you have missed. Oil companies are making record profits after paying their CEO's and Presidents annual salaries in the millions. They can afford to pay salaries in the millions and still post millions in profits. If we as a people require them to mitigate their CO-2 they will have to pay millions to mitigation banks that are privately owned. When was the last time an oil company spent money in Lamar county? $1.79 per gallon for gas may sound cheap to you today, but $3.00 per gallon will be back and sooner than you think. The science is quite clear, increase CO-2 in the atmosphere parallels increases in temperatures. We have had peaks in CO-2 in the past that is in the range of what we are now facing, but those went back down. I942 is one year that had an unusual peak that went down about as fast as it went up. That was more than 3 decades before the global rain forest started being cut at unprecedented rates. Rates of clearing never before seen. The forest of the planet are the lungs of our earth. On a global scale we do not have the means to recycle the carbon that is being poured into the air. Mitigation is the way to start forcing oil companies to clean the air, and to pay private people to help them do this. You pay to have your trash removed, why should big oil be allowed to fund future Katrinas etc. completely unchecked? And then you expect the Government to clean up the mess. Humm.

Does this mean that CocaCola will increase the CO2 in your soft drink, to reduce global warming.
That is about as rediculus as all I have read. I always advise the persons with questions to go to Roberta GA to the Sand Pits, and they will show you a Box of Sharks Teeth they have gotten over the years from the sand. So the Ocean at one time came that far up. Kind of negates all the screaming about global warming, in my mind.

So I guess you assume the oil companies, etc. will just absorb this ridiculous tax? You know better, we will all pay for this tax by increased price for the products. How great for the economy.
Get emotion out of government, and we will be much better off.

Does anyone really believe that a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina was influenced by mankind? You have got to be kidding me! Go crack open an almanac sometime and research what has been happening for hundreds of years. These fradulent scare tactics might work on the weak minded, but they aren't fooling me. Like the previous poster said, this is just another excuse for more government, and more tax and spend. It never stops.

Boogie monsters destroy every one's way of life on a nightly basis. You may think that you are safe from the boogies because you do not have kids but you are wrong, DEAD WRONG! The boogies hover over the city streets at night just waiting for you to poot in your car when you're all alone- THEN, when you least expect it- they go tell Obama about your carbon emitting poot and he giggles...AT YOU!!!!! Don't let the boogie men scare kids and rat you out to Obama about your poots.
That's why I am asking everyone to go BROWN. Going Brown let's everyone around you know that you're down for the struggle, that you don't accept the boogies and their carbon poot tattle telling to Obama.
Don't forget that the boogie men scare children! Go BROWN for the sake of every child, especially third world country children who don't even have closets for the boogie men to hide in. These boogie men just sit in the corner of their mud huts all day waiting for night time when they spring into action!!! THE HORROR!!!!
Boogie men also hurt fury animals by pulling their tails and using high pitched whistles.
GO BROWN BUGGYTOWN!! or go to hell.
