Breaks my heart and scares me sh!tless! How many times I drive thru that intersection with my babies in the backseat... could have been anyone that he crashed into. I hope they find him soon! People, drink yourself into oblivion if you like, but please just DON'T DRINK and DRIVE!!!
Sister Betty will be missed dearly. The Stidhams were both injured and it will be months before they are better, but they are recovering at home. If you know where this scum is please don't hesitate to call the police. This guy had a DUI just a few months ago so he needs to be off the streets.
Why do you feel the need to make fun of him? This could have been a relative or neighbor. My concern is the fact the lady died in the accident and the judge knew the facts. He was dui , no license, no insurance, and no telling what his actual arrest history was. He should not had been able to bond out knowing a person was dead due to his actions and past history. What was his bond??? I am curious to know. Now he is bonded out and could kill someone else with his choice to drink and drive because he is running from the law. Common sense would have told anyone he was an escape risk... Thanks to the judge that allowed him bond. He is now able to kill more people..
but its the truth.no matter if you think its racist or not.and by the way ,crying racist carrys no weight any more. every time a black person doesn't agree with something they cry "thats racist"nobody gives a crap ok.get over it for gods sake!!you are the bigot!
I agree why would a judge give a bond to someone that has a history of DUI. And not wait and see what the condition the victims were in. Ms Betty was in critical condition all along.
These situations should be addressed when it comes time to vote for the Judges seat. He really doesn't think about the entire situations before he passes his judgement.
Why is everything always racists?? I didn't see not one word in their posts that was racist. Monkeys? Is that was you call racist? Do you think of yourself as a Monkey?
I am a white woman and I take offence at the ignorance of this comment. Just goes to show some people just won't grow up and act right. This man does need to turn himself in to authorities but there is no need to call him a "monkey". It just sickens me to know the mentality of some people.
I like monkeys. Curious George was one of my favorite monkeys. UNTIL, someone put his cute little monkey face on a tee shirt and disgraced it with obama's mug.

Since we are exclaiming the egregious actions of a human snake, I want to bring attention to another snake story being run in a local online rag that proclaims itself to be, "The most-read, most trusted news source in greater Lamar County, Georgia".....uh...huh...you betcha!
This "pay as you go" online newspaper is displaying a photo of a man holding a GIANT dead rattlesnake reportedly killed "recently by a lineman working a right of way near the town of Sylvester in Worth County." Noel Bennett is given credit for the photo. There is a famous British photographer named Noel Bennett. I wasn't aware he was tromping around hot Georgia last years in the Dog Days of our Summer heat. This rattlesnake photo has been passed around the internet for a year and has reportedly been killed in many states to include Texas, Missouri, South Carolina and Florida. It's size has grown to 14 feet long and over 120 pounds. Why does our local "pay me now" 'trusted news source' find it necessary to run internet hoaxes and Urban Legends? Shoddy, shoddy..tch!...tch!
The original source for this rattlesnake photo and story was written by Nick Carter and published in the Georgia Outdoor News on August 18, 2010 and actually lists the names of the men involved with the snake killing. There are 3 photos taken at the scene and the photos are stamped with a GON logo.
This real wildlife snake was 6 ft 6 in. in length. I don't know the height of the human snake Richard Fagan who slithered out into the night trying to escape JUSTICE.
I ask the local "trusted source" to stop using Urban Legends as REAL news stories and refer to the original story; http://www.gon.com/article.php?id=2484 (cut and paste)
3.1.2.2.1 is absolutely right. Calling somebody something and saying that somebody is something are two completely different things.
I for one am grateful for this person's helpful contribution to the good of mankind. You, sir or madam, are a beacon of wisdom and truth in a world of ignorance and senseless violence. I recommend that we all just take a moment to reflect on how truly insightful this person's observations on the profound differences between calling someone an animal and saying that a person looks like one. Why, now that I think of it, I think that commenter #3 may have actually been trying to COMPLIMENT Richard Fagan when he said he looked like an escaped monkey! Shame on you, commenter # 3, for failing to relegate this man to the subhuman status to which he so rightfully belongs!
I am also thankful that I have the opportunity to write this on a Sunday because I am so foolish and such a wretched sinner that I might not have made this connection otherwise: Christ loves each of us, even if we look like monkeys, but not if we ARE monkeys.
~~Thank you! Yes, it seems the deceased reptile has been properly laid to rest and is now history in Barnesville journalism. I'm sure the motto, "The most-read, most trusted news source in greater Lamar County, Georgia", will encourage the publishing of a forthcoming mea culpa. On second thought, maybe not!~~

I'm sorry to have to disagree. I know that snake and it was killed in Georgia by a man visiting from Texas that had just finished business travel through the states of Florida and South Carolina. That particular snake was brought here by a woman from California who was visiting Alabama but caught the snake in Mississippi. It was determined that the snake was originally from Louisiana who slithered out of the state because of FEMA people from New Mexico after the Katrina fiasco and the democratically accused mess caused by President Bush. It is believed that the woman was helping the snake on its way to Washington to visit President Obama when it was killed by the Texas snake killer. I think his name was something; Perry. Anyway, Rick commented that there was not enough room for any more poisonous retiles in Washington and that he was only preventing it from getting there.
This woman was my grandmother. She was a very sweet, God fearing, loving woman. It would have broken her heart to see all the hate here. She had a prison ministry and tried to bring light to people like this man. Her attitude would have been to let him be held accountable and abide by the law...but to work to forgive him and know that God's love forgives all when asked with a repentant heart. She would have hoped that he somehow found the grace to truly repent and turn his life around. I love her dearly and will miss her more than words can say. She was a real lady and child of God. Love you Maw Maw...see you again one day.

Well said my daughter - your comments are so very true about MawMaw and how she would have felt about this...We miss her terribly and if we live a life like she did, we will see her again one day for sure.
Actually, if you want to be exact, the comment could be considered 'speciest' as opposed to 'racist'...
...If the photo had been of an older white male with (what would seem to be) excessive baggy skin, drooping eyes and large ears and the OP had said he looked like a basset hound, would you have been so quick to cry 'racism'?...I think not...
...PERCIEVED racism is not, itself, racism...otherwise I could percieve it racist for you to call a bananna a bananna
warning you can run scum bag. but when karma catches you i hope u suffer. my aunt betty didnt deserve that. she was the nicest person anyone would ever meet. i hope u rot in hell. advice i would turn myself in before the wrong person finds you. at least the ga justice system will give u a chance to hide. and thank you lamar county finest for letting another scum bag back on to the streets. thats whats wrong with this town. i guess the 5-O dont work no more. or at least they dont know how to.
These ignorant remarks are not necessary! It's sad when anyone is hurt by someone drinking and driving. But it's also sad when people make stupid comments. Try to do something constructive with your live and stay on the subject!
the truth is a light will help all the accidents> stopping drunk drivers no it will not> but stupid idiots should not be driving in the first place> this whole situation is not a racial thing what so ever> its about a drunk driver getting a slap on the wrist with murder>
It wasnt the police or deputies that let him go ...it was the judge. Get your facts straight before letting your opinions go. The police work hard to catch these idiots just to find out they are released the next day, they don't like it any more than you do.

Take this story to heart, you will see this snake running for re-election in 2012.
