Tubers accosted on Ocmulgee

A father and son who had been tubing on the Ocmulgee River near Pope's Ferry in Monroe County were accosted and beaten Sunday.

Tubing (also known as inner tubing or even toobing) is a recreational activity where an individual rides on top of an inner tube, either on water, snow, or through the air. The tubes themselves are also known as "donuts" or "biscuits" due to their shape.

when i use to go down the river we always took our guns that would solve that problem

Not just a "redneck thang", people all over the country tube down creeks and rivers.

The roughnecks hang out at these places on the river and drink and do drugs. They break into vehicles and rob people. The DNR and Sheriffs depts will clean them up ever few years, like Wise Creek.
