Summer ends Monday for an estimated 2,500 students as they head to Lamar County schools.

Allow extra time driving as traffic around the schools will be congested and buses will be back on the roads.

I was very impressed with the way the first day went. My grandson began kindergarten today and we were both a little nervous. I was glad to see Barnesville P.D. directing traffic at the trouble spots and I was more impressed with the school administration. I think it will be a successful yesr.

First day of fall September 1st.

Winter; December, January and February.
Spring; March, April and May.
Summer; June, July and August.
Fall; September, October and November.

3 months.

My 3rd grader told me this year I am not allowed to walk her in anymore and when I drop her off not to say anything embarrassing to her. I asked her if I was allowed to say "bye", "I love you", and "have a great day"... She said as long as no one else hears it it will be okay. They grow up so fast! :(
All in all we are looking forward to a great year, she is very excited to finally be out of the Primary School!
