I cannot attend due to my work schedule but would love to see the meeting notes. The Rec Dept is really the only thing our children have here in Lamar County and it really needs to be supported.
Thanks for the invitation. I will not be able to attend for undisclosed reasons. But, here's to having much success in the growth of the program. It would be great to get more kids involved, and have multiple teams for each age group. I would add, if I could attend, that getting good coaches that are about teaching strong fundamental of the game is very important. There should be a coaching clinic made available for those that volunteer their time. These kids are our future Trojans!!!
There are coaching clinics for these men & women that volunteer their time. Yes I agree we do need more kids playing but I also feel that it begins with the parents motivation and participation. Wish you could make the meeting. I am sure they will have some write up about the meeting. If not call and ask.
Becky,
I would love to attend and participate however, this meetings is at the same time as the high school boosters meeting.
Reba knows how to get a hold of me if there is something you need me to do.
Promote the product. And, publicize the results. Get the kids, and the coaches all of the recognition that you can... Parents should want to be a part of something special. Youth sports need to be put on a pedestal in the community. There has to be a passion for it, if it is to be a big success.
Congratulations to The Middle Ga. Storm Fastpitch Softball Organization based in Barnesville for finishing the year placing 2nd in The GSA Salute To America Tournament in Douglasville (14U), and winning the CAMsports Summer Championships (14U) in Milledgeville. Great finish, and good momentum for fall play. Local team members are: Peewee Johnson, Caitlin Tootle, Lane Hammond, Heather Blevins, Cheyenne Husak, Taylor Long, Allison McCullough, and Sydney Moore. Out of town team members are Paula Drake (Jackson) Katie Barnard (Gray) Alexis Ussery (Roberta) Sammi "Rhino" Rowley (Perry) Sophie Cardot (Suwanee) and Taylor Head (Eatonton). Keep an eye out for an announcement concerning try outs for 14U and 16U teams for fall and 2012. 12U will possibly be added in the near future, also.
Congratulations to these girls! I would love to do a story on them for the pring edition of the paper if you would send me info and photos to kenkgreen@aol.com
I sent an e mail to you with a little information. Since then we found out that three of the girls are starting for the varsity as 9th graders. Good job, and way to work hard ladies.
