Sheriff's report

Between Monday, Aug. 1, and Monday, Aug. 8, the Lamar County sheriff’s office made the following arrests:
Tony Smith, 51, Thomaston, habitual offender, no tail lights and driving while license suspended or revoked;
Wayman Eugene Harris, 58, Griffin, open container, DUI alcohol, violation of conditions of limited driving permit and no tail lights;
Marlon Marvin Miller, 32, Coral Springs, Fla., driving while license suspended or revoked, no license plate, reproduction of recorded material, visual images or video and improper lane change;
Warren Terrell Johnson, 35, Barnesville, child support;
Robert Joseph Boutwell, 45, Lawrenceville, Ga., aggravated assault and disorderly conduct;
Isael Ruiz-Luna, 32, no residence given, driving without a license and tail light violation;
Rachaelle Reid, 30, Marietta, arrested for another agency;
Eric Shonte Hamm, 32, Barnesville, arrested for another agency;
Larry Fletcher, 56, Barnesville, simple battery;
James Darryl Wright, 44, Barnesville, probation violation;
James Russell Brooks, 36, Panama, Fla., probation violation;
Tina Marie Underwood, 36, Barnesville, DUI less safe and failure to maintain lane;
Stewart Wade Salter, 43, Thomaston, DUI less safe, weaving over roadway, open container and speeding;
Johnathan Henderson, 36, Griffin, arrested for another agency;
Alex J. Goodin, 43, Thomaston, deposit account fraud;
Gary James Nichols, 27, Barnesville, speeding, driving while license suspended or revoked, DUI less safe, DUI endangering a child and open container;
Quantavious Jamaul Smith, 21, Thomaston, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Deputies answered 140 complaints. Lamar E-911 answered 95 calls, dispatching deputies to 25, the Barnesville police department to 28, Lamar County firefighters to 29 and Mid-Georgia Ambulance Service to 46. There were 10 accidents. Deputies served two state warrants and issued 31 traffic citations.

I suppose David Smith, William Smith, Harry Smith was not acceptable.

Quantavious, already being a convicted felon will do serious time for the gun charge.

Robert Joseph Boutwell, 45, Lawrenceville, Ga., aggravated assault and disorderly conduct;

He was in the last sheriff blotter for aggravated assault. Did he get out and do it again? If at first you dont succeed, fail fail again.

I think it's more of the DUI that's keeping them in business. Are you suggesting they stop getting DUIs?

You know it is obvious who you are, just keep on posting negative comments about the current adminstration. Maybe one day you might be able to get out and make a difference in the community, but then again you cannot even hold a job in law enforcement so forget that thought.

its easy to post negative comments about the current admin.it would be far harder to find positive comments to post.but nothing will change,the uneducated backwoods people of lamar county will keep avoiding having to step up to the future and get rid of the good ol'boy's.

How can you find anything positive to say about anything with a comment like that!
In 2004 the people of Lamar County did give another individual a chance to step up and look what happen. You need to just face the fact that your Good ol'Boy could not handle the job!

the truth hurts don't it?i think mr tolbert pointed out the obvious.lamar county will remain in the past wondering why no industry will locate there,and what few were there left.its plain as day,old school politics.keep watching the crime sky rocket,the unemployment rise,and wonder whats going on while the rest of the world just passes by.lamar county has allways been the regional joke and as long as they keep the same old families and friends in power they will continue that slide into Obscurity.

"The Truth" speeks the truth!could'nt say it better myself.wave people of Lamar County as you watch the parade known as "the rest of the world" pass by.sooner or later the inbreeding will catch up to you.how much longer are you willing to allow the good'ol boys to spoon feed you and tell you your every move?as they lock up your neighbors and children while their family members and friends go about their merry way.so so sad,but what do you expect after all its all you have ever known.

It doesnt scare me at all. I know who I will be voting for. I am just tired of hearing the same old stuff. I dont recall the sheriff being responsible for bring growth to Lamar County . It the same old song. Exactly what did the past "joke" do for Lamar County? I would really like to know. Give us some facts please, and include if the case was won in court. I would also like to know if the missing money was recovered. I think the current sheriff had to call in the GBI soon after taking office for a number of problems that should not have happened. I will have to search my memory for the details on that.

search your memory for the time waller lost the election to Buice and made a complete joke of the whole county.the reason you and a lot of people of Lamar County didn't care for Mr Buice is was stepping on the toes of the old money good old boy families and their friends and was getting too close to exposing the truth about how corrupt this county realy is.and it would seem to me you are scared of Mr Buice ,why is that?something to hide?
