The president and vice president of United Bank’s Pike Division reached new heights this summer as they climbed to the summits of Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier in Washington state.

I gotta tell you, I don't get why someone would climb a mountain in snow, but I admire their pluck.

I lived in Seattle for many years before returning home to Georgia and had the good fortune to hike at Mt. Rainier, one of my favorite places, many times. I can't claim the accomplishment of climbing to the summitt, but must tell you that it is very exhilarating to cross a snowfield in shorts, in the middle of the summer, with the warm sun shining down on you. But it can get a little chilly when you get near the summitt as the photo illustrates, especially this year as Washington has had a very cool summer .. highs only in the 70's .... wish we could have some of that here!! :-)
