Lamar County commissioners approved the annual charge-offs and charge-ons from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. The net result was a loss of $176,328.65 in Georgia, county, school and Barnesville taxes.
This is proof positive of just how bad the economy is. To just raise taxes to make the up difference is to not adjust spending
to reflect the financial ability of the average tax payer. To do so would just add to the downward economic spiral most all are experiencing.
