While her official last day as general manager of the Lamar County Water Authority is Aug. 31 and she plans to begin a new job with PetroSouth in Griffin by Sept. 12, Amberly Ferris will stay on with the authority until Barnesville takes over the water service – a move planned to begin Sept. 1, when the authority office will close.
Water payments must be made at Barnesville City Hall, not the former Water Authority Building on Highway 36.

Either way, it seems like some governmental agency should consider using it since it is fairly new since even if it is put up for sale, it will probably take years to find a qualified buyer.
One thing is for sure. The county doesn't learn anything from history because they sure like to repeat it.
The old saying, "wise people learn from their mistakes but, really wise people learn from someones else's mistakes"..... makes me question the decision making capability of those commissioners.
#2 it has not been determined what the building will be used for
#3 the building will be turned over to the county .. have not heard how they will use it
