Health care is a major issue. As a small business owner my own health care costs me $10,000 and I am in pretty good health. They won't cover anything I'm likely to have a problem with, like reflux or vision, because I have had reflux problems and have had an eye problem.
All you hardened whiners probably are already on medicare or probably have some employer paying the big bucks.
Healthcare costs are as much of a problem as the deregulated banks all are.
We spent 30 some years getting into this mess, it really started back with regan, and one single thing is never going to fix it. We have to fix all the stupid things we have let happen, not just throw money at banks.
Just face it Obama won the election. I can only wait until the people that are not supporting him realize later that he does have a plan and that with the support of everyone (all ethnic groups) this economy will become stronger.
You all have given President Obama more criticism in the past 60 days than Bush had during his entire term.
Did Bush have a plan for all of the 401k money that people like me lost, innocent soldiers that dies to prove to his father that he was man by fabricating weapons of mass destruction stories?.. I don't think so.

I remember Regan's speeches promoting change from a manufacturing economy to a service economy. We bought into that crap and now the only jobs possible are with borrowed money created to pass around more borrowed money.
Our government has been stealing from the middle class since the 80's. What used to be the middle class is far in hock now. We have nothing to sell the rest of the world to get out of debt. We have very little they want or need except our land.
We did it to ourselves by being greedy, dishonest, and foolish. This isn't going to get fixed no matter what we do and you all know it.
The fact is he has no plan, other than to let Pelosi have her way. She's already looking to do another stimulus and the first one is even started yet! His 401k plan? Oh yes, that's a sure winner. We already have a plan like that. It's called Social Security. We all see what a fine mess that has turned out to be. 'Fabricated stories of weapons of mass destruction'? You obviously don't remember that Sadaam killed 300,000 of his own people with them. You obviously don't know any soldiers who served over there, who can tell you that, no, they did not find any weapons, but they did find empty tractor trailers buried in the sand there that tested for high levels of WMD's; they were used to truck the stuff reportedly to Syria.
Yes, Bush was a C average man. So was Grant, and he defeated Robert E. Lee, who was tops in his class at West Point. I've never thought Bush was the sharpest knife in the drawer. No one is saying about Obama being black (actually, he's biracial. You're only seeing black). I could care less if were pink with puple polka dots. What I do care about is green, as does most everyone else. And we have lost too much of it for government to continue to go down this road.
As to the media's criticism of Obama, the main stream media has made a god of Obama along with a whole lot of Americans. This president has never had a real job, has no real experience with much of anything, and does love to be center stage (while Pelosi pulls his strings behind the curtain), and you think the media did not bash Bush. You must have been out of the country for a while. As far as weapons of mass destruction, I believe there were weapons and they were moved to Syria and Iran. Why else would there have been all the anecdote parafenalia that was found? My opinion! I haven't been to the pit of hell -- but it sounds like you are taking lessons from the great one in your speech. Do bear in mind while you are making your comments, that in 2006 we had a Democratic Congress. d Have you ever heard the expression "lame duck"? Not once did I mention Obama being black -- you did! Please people, get off the race fascination and look at the direction our country is heading in. I'm not in favor of socialism, giving the unions total control of the workplace, paying for everyone else's healthcare or sharing what wealth I have with everyone else because the big O said I have to. I love our constitution and hate to see it put aside!
If they can't even treat our veterans any better than that, then what on earth makes you think any of us will be any better off?
Also, take a look at how the other socialist countries government run healthcare has turned out. Facts are readily available, if you will allow yourself to see them.

When I started looking for answers in books and from friends, I found most of my answers in the most unlikely places.
I decided one day, I was going to read the Bible, just see what all the hoopla was about. I tell you it was a struggle, and to make since out of the maze of rhetoric and contradictions was almost impossible. Then, I thought I would focus on what was written in red. After all, this was the guy everybody was making such a fuss about. This proved to be more helpful and gave me a better insight as to what were the more important things in life.
This did create another big problem. Although we seem to have a church on every corner and our currency had “In God we trust” plastered on every denomination, I didn’t see our society or our government coming close to doing what was written in red. We seem to as a nation celebrate all the Christian holidays and squabble where the ten commandments should be placed, but we seems too easily, forget the two most important commandments that Christ said we should obey. The irony was that, these two commandments directly oppose the individualistic and capitalistic American idealism.
One, “To love they God with all thy heart, soul and mind and (2) to love thy neighbor as thy self, as said by Christ should to over shadow all other conditions to call ones self a Christian. The interesting thing is, how we do number (1), is to do number (2). How our country could be founded on Christian idealism and so casually glaze over such a core theological principle is disturbing.
The reason I’m taking you down this road is because universal health care looks to me to be the compassionate thing to do. After all, most of the miracles Christ performed were to heal the bodies and minds of the poor and down trodden. To put ones’ physical and mental well being beyond materialistic gain is the core message of all theologies. It’s not only the right thing to do; it’s also the mark of an evolved and humane society. To say that it would ruin the present health system simply is not true. The industrialize nations that do have universal health enjoy longer longevity and better health the those who have access to health care here in the US.
