Rec. night at Trojan Field Friday
Lamar County Recreation Night at Trojan Field is this Friday night when the Trojans host Northeast Macon in their Region 4-AA opener. All local recreation players and cheerleaders wearing their game jerseys or uniforms will be admitted to the game free of charge. Players should be there by 6:45 pm as they will be recognized on the field prior to the game.

I bet is they sold beer at the games the stands would fill up every Friday night. Here's an idea. Let the Chamber of Commerce be in charge of putting on the high school football games. We might not know where all the money goes but they will be well attended. And while I'm tubthumping, why do you never see any local dignitaries at the local high school sporting events. I've never seen the mayor, city councilmembers, county commisson chairman or commissioners or the city manager at any ball games. Hell, I've only seen one or two board of education members at games. I just don't get it.
