IDA earns Deal of the Year award
The Georgia Economic Developers Association recognized the Barnesville-Lamar County Industrial Development Authority for an “outstanding achievement in the location/expansion of business in Georgia.” Barnesville-Lamar County was recognized because of the Piedmont Green Power project that is under construction now.

I wonder how much it costs the tax payers of Lamar Co. for the IDA to be a member of the "The Georgia Economic Developers Association"???

What happens when "the deal" fails like the chinese industry that was supposed to be up and operating by now? Does she have to give the award back? Better yet, does she get to keep her job? How much are the taxpayers paying her anyway?

Yeah, way to go! I mean the IDA has done so much for Barnesville/Lamar County. Don't yall think this is money well spent?

What have they done? Nothing since Buckeye came here almost thirty yeas ago. Take the Chamber and let a couple of little ole ladies volunteer to run it several days a week. Take the thousands a year they spend And create a works training school to help people to learn to help themselves and watch the instant results of our high unemployment rate go down.
