A school bus was involved in a crash with another vehicle at approximately 3:50 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Hwy. 41 South and Fredonia Church Road. One passenger in the smaller vehicle was ejected.
The injured driver, a female, was not seriously injured. She was described as conscious and alert at the scene and a medical evacuation helicopter put on standby to transport her was cancelled.

There has been more accidents there than I can count. It is another very dangerous spot here in Lamar.

It's not the intersection my dear, it's the operator of the vehicle not stopping, looking and then looking again before pulling out.

My child was on that bus. Thank god it wasn't one of the log trucks that fly up and down that road. This intersection is horrible and has a terrible blind spot. My husband had a wreck in the exact same spot a few years ago. It's definitely a dangerous area.

There is not one dangerous intersection in lamar county. There is however a large number of careless and irresponsible drivers. Unless a traffic light malfunctions, an intersection cannot be at fault. . If you tumble down a flight of stairs its your fault, not the stairs fault.

I have to agree with 7 on this topic. However, I feel that a large number of persons using hwy 41 think it is their private race track, especially the Log Trucks. Perhaps, some traffic enforcement by the Sheriff and the State Patrol will correct some of this.

i would have to say there are always state troopers on this road i use to live on it and i been pulled over a few times and i know they watch that road alot more than you people think and its a state highways so its the state trooper jobs to watch it not the county all the county does anyways is hang out up town,at huddle, house or at flash foods so they wont get anything done about it and city cops like to hang out at peoples houses all the time (blackman)

A lot of law enforcement use it as their own race track going back and forth to GPSTC.

While we're talking intersections, I go to work by way of the bypass, people if you are merging from Atlanta St. northbound , there is nowhere for traffic on the bypass to get over, you MUST yield. Police you can write tickets all day long, construction is going on, this is where you need to be. Again not the intersection, it's the stupid driving the vehicle

Merging traffic should yield - It's the law. Unfortunately, most people with licenses today cannot remember the first question, or answer, from the test they took (and hopefully passed)to get a license to begin with!

Per:8.1...like they said people use it for a race track. Is that why you have been pulled over a few times? You told on your self. It's really a bad place to pull out of with the traffic coming north bound if you are in a small car.

I really do believe it is the drivers from both sides fault because the ones goin down 41 should slow down and the ones that are coming out of fredonia church rd should look really good before pulling out and then they should not take their time pulling out either. But it is a blind spot you really cant see if anything is coming until you pull out. People just need to pay more attention to their driving and not their cell phones.
