How could this anonymous staff writer possibly know that "Burns is the odds on favorite to get the job"? Did the anonymous staff writer above even meet the candidates? Does he or she know the chancellor?
Ph.D. in British medieval and renaissance literature, linguistics?what the hel@?well that tells you he's a left wing liberal for sure.i'll bet he thinks obammma is some kind of god.
Frankly, I wasnt impressed with any of the Candidates.
As an Alumnus of Gordon, I feel a person of Leadership, which these candidates, appear in my conception, each are a little light in this area. I fail to see anything in their backgrounds where they took initiatives that would create growth in the fields they have persued. They appear to have filled in a square on the organizational chart.
The press release from the USG makes no mention of any favorites. Here is the text: http://www.usg.edu/news/release/recommendations_received_for_gordon_college_presidency/.
Whoever this anonymous staff writer is, he or she needs to explain where the information comes from. I suspect that it is speculation, and even if true, I am reluctant to trust the credibility of reporters who pretend some inside knowledge.
By the way, does anyone even know whether Shelley Nickel even applied? The reporter here seems to imply that, but once again, perhaps that is mere speculation.
The anonymous reporter probably understands how politics work; thus, the chancellor and Dr. Burns' close association would make him a lead candidate, regardless of qualifications. I bet ole anonymous reporter is right.....
