Alot people have paid for their land. Its Taxes I'm talking about. Thats a little different than not paying for it or paying your morgage. And it is sad and they are stealing it!
I guess it seems unfair that you've already purchased the land and it just sits there and you have to pay taxes on it, but that's the way it's been for eons.
I had acreage in Heard County, knew I would never live over there again, and had no plans for the land so I sold it. I got really lucky and got out from underneath it before the economy was totally in the crapper.
If you can't pay taxes on it, the best thing to do is sell. Even a loss on the property is better than letting the gov't have it.
If none of us paid our taxes, where would you be? Answer: Without services that you desperately need. Think about it that way- no one is stealing property from anyone. We have an obligation to pay taxes on our property. If you don't play by the rules of the game, you lose ( and in this case, you lose the property).
When these people dont pay there taxes, then the county steals from every tax payer.They might come up with a fire fee or something to off set the downfall.I pay my taxes every year on time,they should have done the same.
Thanks for the info about tax sales. I have always wondered. So, even if the house is up as collateral for the loan, the bank cannot come after you or take the property? After I saw the prices for some of these properties I was kicking myself for not taking a day off to make a bid or two.
Maybe I was thinking about when foreclosure is by bank and any tax liens on property are then buyer's responsibility.

The parasites that live off the income of others are soon to run out.
When that happens and they show up to confiscate property in this manner, they'll soon meet angry people with nothing left to lose.
Then it will get ugly.
